A little background on the GB Memory Cartridge:
The Cart, distributed by Nintendo Power Japan was a blank Game Boy cart that when taken to local shops that housed Loppi stations, could download games from the Loppi catalogue onto your cart, for a fee of course.
This cart, along with the SF Memory Cassette for the Super Famicom were basically officially made flash-carts for their respective systems.
A large catalogue of games  were able to be purchased and added to your carts for playing on your system.
This remix is of the track that plays when the GB Memory Cartridge is inserted into a Game Boy Color.
When I first heard the track, it almost instantly reminded me of early 80's synth-heavy music, so I tried to capture the feel of that era here!

I was thinking about touching the base theme but thought it was fine as is. Maybe, maayybe I'll give a crack at it someday...

After being inspired by all the wonderful compositions I've heard on Maj 7, I ran to my computer and began to write this song. It's a bit of a woodland journey that ends up in funksville (why do we always wind up here?!).

Gear used: Reaper, Digits (chords, swells, sound fx, leads), FM8 (bass, arp synth, tuned percussion, flutes and rattles), Slam VST (synth drums), Kontakt (electric piano), Superior Drummer 2 (realish drums), various fx odds and ends.

Louis Gorenfeld is a #digitalfusion artist from San Francisco, CA specializing in hyperactive videogamic funk grooves and original sound design. He has been tracking jams since 1992, and continues the tradition to this day. He is also the author of the Digits VST phase distortion synthesizer.
