Snow Ghosts is the collaboration between Throwing Snow & recent Phaeleh collaborator Augustus Ghost. Recently releasing debut album ‘A Small Murmuration’, they’ve been The Guardian’s ‘New Band of the Day’, Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’, and have played a live acoustic session on Dermot O’Leary’s BBC Radio 2 show.

‘And The World Was Gone’ pins a sense of unease to an acoustic guitar riff, cello and Augustus Ghost’s most affecting vocal. Remixes come from Roly Porter (one half of bass duo Vex’d), who brings out the track’s darkness, whilst D&B maestro Calibre emphasises the melancholy in its melody. Finally, our featured track here, in-demand Bristol producer Kahn provides the most arresting cover version imaginable.

The 12” is cut to heavyweight 180g vinyl by mastering engineer of the year, Matt Colton.

Premiere: My Nu Leng feat Fox 'Masterplan'

The title track from the debut album from the Electric Swing Circus.  This track is made up with parts from the other songs on the album...

I used about 70% of stems. I tried merge my idea with original theme like it sounds more powerfull and original with interesting rising up process. Key and bpm were changed. My composition act very emotive what was main point. Intro includes edited horn stem which is something like identity symbol of original composition DESTINY'S DOOR. In heard of recomposition is this symbol vocal which was of course edited but it´s capturing again Mr. Zimmers original work. Beat was edited and enriched about next percusions, war kicks, hats, shakes, groove hats and many more. I tried escalate track as whole. Sound surface was compared and adapted according to original version.

Los Tios are me and Roberto Sahonero from the legendary Bolivian band Los Masis. This is the first of a series of tunes put together with Robbie in Sucre, Bolivia. I spent a very happy couple of months at Los Masis headquarters above Cafe Florin there, learning charango from Gonzalo del Carpio and sharing musical ideas with Robbie. The Charango on the track is me and the Zamponas and Quenas are Robbie. The name Los Tios came out of the Bolivian Diablada tradition as El Tio (The uncle) is the lord of the underworld where the miners all have to work. The tune is a kind of mashup between the Tinku rhythm from Northern Potosi department and an old Peruvian Huayno melody.  It's definitely a work in progress and it's hard to finish it off properly whilst I'm on the road in South America with just headphones to work with.

Just a homage to one of my favourite producers Richard Blair aka Sidestepper. Sometimes not credited I feel for being light years ahead of all the johnny-come-latelys to the tropical music scene (myself included). He's been making great progressive music with Colombian musicians since the mid-nineties. I can't make it available for download I'm afraid...the original is beautifully restrained and minimalist but I just wanted to try to add beats for DJ sets.

Rises In The East

Outernational bass music nomad Filastine ups the ante with £00T. Fractured post-dubstep beat innovations support delicate string arrangements. Overdriven bass synths battle pentatonic gong patterns. Listen closely and listen loud.
Looting from the coffers of hip-hop, moombahton, dubstep and cumbia, Filastine keeps the bass pressure pumping and drums up front. But any similarity to club music genres ends quickly. While a growing tropical bass movement hypes a pan-global dance party, Filastine blazes a different path. Intricate polyrhythms, muted balkan trumpets, ephem- eral soundscapes, and unique vocal contributions push this album off the known map into uncharted musical territory.
Introduction No Step will test your speakers for the album that follows. Gendjer2 and Colony Collapse are the fruit of a tight collaboration with Indonesian indy rapper Nova. She contributes lush 60’s R&B harmonies and megaphone-filtered rhymes. Filastine’s time in Asia also brings a featuring from Japan’s chief rap dadaist ECD. In Lost Report hear him shouting against nuclear contamination over a dirty bass hook and the stuttered clicks of a geiger counter. These onsite collaborations were recorded everywhere from ware- houses to rainforests, then painstakingly mixed over the course of 2011 in a rooftop studio in the muslim quarter of Barcelona, with breaks to participate in the Spanish uprisings of last year.
Throughout the album Filastine leverages rhythmic expertise that he’s gathered far and wide, from the tiny Moroccan village of Jajouka to the coke-fueled parades of Rio de Janeiro. Echoes of Filastine’s old marching band, the Infernal Noise Brigade, propel the drum corp juke of Circulate False Notes and the glitch-crunk of Skirmish. Even Filastine’s years as a taxi driver are audible in the field recordings of radio static, street noises and polyglot collages.
£00T comes with a grip of videos and graphics that riff on concepts from the Arab spring to ecological and financial collapse. With a CD design doubling as utopian money, the album launches alongside a currency for a near-future network of clandestine floating cities.

Extra Medium is a Bristol born producer that has been taking on the influences of the city’s underground music scene and fusing it with Jazz music. 

His love for Jazz and obscure sampling has led him to fuse the rolling sounds of drum and bass and the big shuffling energy of UK Garage. Creating a unique and big take on bass driven dance music. 


His take on dance music has led him to create his own record label Thick Boy Records. A record label dedicated to the sounds of UK Garage, House and Drum and bass whilst keeping thick, fresh and funky.
