A warm and hearty ‘Welcome-to-Scour-Records-pop-your-clothes-on-the-side’ going out to @extramedium! He’s been busy secretly crafting this delectable EP for a long while, and we’ve been hugely excited with each progression. It’s an honour to be able to share his swing-bass with the Scourdem crew.

From the opening low swung bass driven groover of 'Blues Boogie Bass', to the all original collaborative title track 'Size Up' - featuring the silky slick skills of 4x World DMC Champion @dj-mr-switch on the cuts, and the supreme sax'yness of @cab-canavaral's horn. Onward through to the house infused number 'Go Away', and rounded up with the truly splendiferously melodic piano flavoured 'Lazy Bones' - we hope this latest Artist EP has that little something for everyone, as is the strived for way of all things Scour. Be warned though, this EP is so filthy-georgeous shakermaker it will make your hair explode into a glorious technicolour afro…or your money back!*

By day Mr. Funkshine is a Graphic Designer working his magic in the music industry. By night he searches deep into the archives, scouring for vintage beats fused with future basslines. 

He has previously worked on designs for the likes of Tuxedo Junction, Captain Flatcap, Fizzy Gillespie, Mr. Stabalina, Skank Spinatra, Swing & Bass, Molotov Balkan Sessions, Count Bassy, Global Beats Club, The Bard, Dutty Moonshine, Mista Trick, Extra Medium, Digitise, Quack Tactics, Tigas, Pop Ya Cork, Funky Bass Disco, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Dj Hiphoppapotamus, WOMP, Five Dollar Festival, Towlie Dj, Break Loose, Dj Questionmark and many more.

Extra Medium is a Bristol born producer that has been taking on the influences of the city’s underground music scene and fusing it with Jazz music. 

His love for Jazz and obscure sampling has led him to fuse the rolling sounds of drum and bass and the big shuffling energy of UK Garage. Creating a unique and big take on bass driven dance music. 


His take on dance music has led him to create his own record label Thick Boy Records. A record label dedicated to the sounds of UK Garage, House and Drum and bass whilst keeping thick, fresh and funky.
