Dublin's inHabit Recordings celebrate 7 years in operation with a mini comp championing not only the label's sonic roots, but also the friendships made along the way.

Leading the way for Irish jungle and DnB throughout this course, inHabit continues to fly their flag the highest and this 7 track V/A exemplifies such an attitude inviting along some of the genre's titans in Pixl, St1tch, Microcosm, SENND, Brain, LO!, and Waveform Kru NYC to share their work.

'This is an album that has been carefully curated to reflect where we are as a label right now. It is the culmination of seven years of hard graft, good energy, adventures in mad places with some amazing people, incredible parties, disappointing parties, a whole-ass pandemic, highs, lows, triumphs, failures, the works.'

Our featured premiere comes from Leeds stalwart Pixl, a jungle and drumfunk producer who has been releasing music for over 10 years featuring on labels such as AKO Beatz, Future Retro London, Transmute and Love Love Records. His sound blends the raw spirit of 90s jungle with contemporary drumfunk precision — intricate break edits, deep sub-bass, and cinematic atmospheres as reflected on 'Sacred Visions'.

The first stop of my European tour in December took me to the 'occupied space' Zero 81 in the amazing city of Napoli in South central Italy!  Knowing this was likely the first time any of these people had seen me perform live I decided to deliver a mega-mix of the best hippo bangers new and old!  Huge shouts to the promoter Daniele who also managed to record the set.

It was a wicked city, with much art, culture and character... I was told it’s character comes from living in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius... as the spirit of the volcano bleeds into the chaotic spirit of the city and its people!  ...And they certainly showed this spirit on the dancefloor! <3

The ultimate no-nonsense party-rocking, festival-shocking combo, Hot Cakes Live brings together three of the finest DJs on the UK bass circuit - Deekline, Ed Solo and JFB - with the microphone talents of the mighty Rubi Dan. This raucous trio of renowned turntable killers will be blowing up main stages across the UK and beyond this summer, coming through in full effect to get those bassbins seriously booming.

A bass music icon from the days of his Platinum-selling UK garage anthem I Don't Smoke Da Reefer, Deekline recently released (with Ed Solo) new album Bounce 'n' Shake, a tour de force of booty bass, jungle, soul, breaks, dubstep, drumstep and drum 'n' bass sent down with the kind of assurance one might expect from a DJ who has sent bodies flying round the room at club venues across the globe for more than a decade. Expect brazen and bombastic badboy anthems accompanied by skilled, selective scratch techniques capable of hyping up even the most taciturn of crowds from an artist who recently proved his hipster credentials with remixes for the likes of Lethal Bizzle and Laidback Luke.

Joining Deekline on stage will be partner in crime Ed Solo, an expert studio guru whose sublime engineering skills are equalled only by his nack for a booty-bouncing hook and an ability to throw down on the turntables. Our final Hot Cakes Live decknician is two-time UK DMC champ JFC, who will be slipping his unique brand of turntable exhibitionism into the mix. Described by no less than Fatboy Slim as "The Thinking Man's Grandmaster Flash", this Brighton-based DJ and producer is a scratch daddy for the bass music generation, an artist who is as likely to beat juggle dubstep rollers as he is to throw down live remixes of classic hip-shaking 12"s (check out his barmy take on DJ Shadow's Midnight in a Perfect World or infamous four-turntable reworking of Fatboy Slim's Right Here Right Now on YouTube for a taste of what to expect). With releases on iconic labels such as Hospital records, Rat Records, Skint Records, Hot Cakes and GhettoFunk, JFB has DJed all over the world from LoveBox and Glastonbury to Canada's iconic Shambhala and Bestival's Big Top Stage, where he's a huge favourite.
