NEW YORK CITY – Maŕa, experimental artist and founder of the hybrid collective/label, Cultivated Sound, will be releasing a music video, and coinciding EP, for their single "Rebellion" next month. The track, originally released in a compilation by Silent Servant and Rrose called Air Texture VII, will be re-released alongside remixes by LDY OSC and S. English. 

Visually, “Rebellion” is subjective, giving the viewers an individual experience by creating their own story or relationship with Maŕa from the outside. The film also examines Maŕa’s relationship with the viewer as represented by the camera. Her sound is a synthesis of deep, complex atmospheres and punchy rhythms tinged with dance-floor grit. Blurring the lines between ambient, experimental music, and deep bass rhythm, Maŕa’s expertise in sound now has a graphic landscape in the form of her own haunting, virtual oasis. 

"While writing and composing new music, it is all just a feeling for me. I want listeners to be able to understand and feel the emotions I have inside. Rebellion truly represents that sonically and visually, it also represents the struggle of breaking through the industry and encourages women, ethnic minorities, and LGBT communities to be strong and follow their passion. Most importantly, continue to challenge the male-dominated status quo."

A short visit to the Indochinese Peninsula at the wrong time of the global pandemic breakout, led Ian Richter to over a year and a half of living in Vietnam, and to a deep love affair with the Vietnamese folk religion. Ian was intrigued to find a place drenched in culture and mysticism existing hand in hand with hyper capitalism (yet officially committed to socialism).

Over the course of the last 18 month Ian recorded, mentally and physically, the sounds of his encounters and experiences. From daily life, through industrial and natural landscapes, to ancient and modern dance, forging foreign with familiar, mysticism with science, and claustrophobia with liberation.

Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project of George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. With already 4 EP releases on prominent labels such as OSM Tapes, Kein Rauch Ohne Feuer, Pildoras Tapes & Forkha, Alpha Sect strikes back with a vinyl release on SOIL RECORDS (27/11/21) and has also signed two more vinyls on two major Spanish labels that are to be released in early 2022. The ‘Emergence’ series was the first fully-fledged project of Bella Ursa's head honcho @letherique , aimed at experimenting with the boundaries of his many influences – no matter if its techno, disco, electro, or ambient. It helped forge his identity through much trial and error and ultimately led to the creation of the Bella Ursa imprint.

As now is the time to finally move forward in peace, we thought it would be nice to release a mixtape compiling all these early works, along with a few extra and unreleased tracks. To make this collection complete, he entrusted many of his friends met over the years with each producing a remix of their choice. Harnessing the power from a multitude of different scenes, ‘Emergence Remixed’ offers a brand-new journey into uncharted horizons, where Morodesque disco meets mind-altering electro-jazz and cinematic delights reminiscent of Lalo Schifrin’s soundtracks.
It will be released digitally on all platforms, but also on a cassette inside a beautiful smoked UV printed case, which assembles with the first part of the collection.

Phase 1 of the Bella Ursa mothership is now complete.
