Over the past decade, Egyptian-born, Barcelona-based DJ and techno producer Raxon has popped out a steady stream of twelve-inch singles, precision-tooled, for labels like Cocoon, Drumcode, Diynamic, Truesoul, and Ellum Audio. An alumni of Kompakt’s Speicher series – check the insistent, vibrating pulses of “The Ancient” and “Dark Light” on 2019’s Speicher 107 he boarded the Kompakt mothership with last year’s Sound Of Mind (KOMPAKT 433). A long-awaited debut album that is both for the dancefloor and the boudoir, traversing the heat of the club and the warmth of the home.

And just in time for what we expect to be a full return to festival season, “Sound Of Mind” got the remix treatment. Raxon takes on his ambient cut “Exit Station” and churns it into a minimal stomper. We welcome one of our favourite producers of the moment, Japan’s Wata Igarashi and he doesn’t disappoint delivering his signature trance fuelled techno to album favourite “El Multiverse”….last, but not least, the legendary duo Extrawelt went so far as to create two distinctly different remixes of “Droid Solo”. One keeps the float and meander of the original track but with a four to the floor drive that’ll work in any peak time set. Their Radical Remix embellishes on the breaks and beats of the original for the deep space heads.

Storied German duo Extrawelt arrive on remix duty, taking the reins on ‘Riot Dance’ to twist a low-slung groover. They bring the bassline into the foreground, keeping a delightful vibe alive and welcoming a touch of light to the dark underbelly of the original, before diving back into the deep as the track unfolds.
