On JEAHMON! we continue with a release by @thirstyeyesmusic, an established DJ and producer that kicks off a new alias. Thirsty Eyes has been composing electronic music for more than a decade under many aliases. His long lasting DJ career has helped him detect every single vibration from the crowd in the clubs and hes already been able to transpose this energy to his music in the studio. Now he's ready to widen borders between House and Techno with his genre-fluid vision about club music. The debut of Thirsty Eyes will be split into two releases and starts with RATE GATE, a dark and hypnotic track that combines a continuos powerful bassline with a mystic lead and adds a lot of energy to the dance floor. The remix for the title track RATE GATE was done by inhouse artist SNYL and this one goes straight into our specific Indie Dance genre and shows the development of the artist, taking his powerful brand into a new dimension. ABOUT 4D SOUND

The 4D Sound System was designed and developed in Amsterdam by Paul Oomen, Salvador Breed, Luc Van Weelden and Poul Holleman. It comprises 16 columns with omnidirectional speakers at several heights in each column, and the columns spaced around the room in a 12 x 12 x 4m array.

They have designed Max for Live devices which provide a range of spatial controls within Ableton Live, as well as an accompanying visual 3D model of the space and sounds within it. This allows for a spatial composition/production process, whereby each piece of music is designed as a physical entity to exist within the space, as something that can be walked around inside and explored by the listeners.

The system is called "4D Sound" because it produces sound in all 3 spatial dimensions, as well as being able to move sounds through the space in time - the 4th dimension.

Back from the wilderness. Synth in one hand, long-range camera in the other, techno’s most enduring naturist Eulberg returns to Stephan Bodzin’s Herzblut.

‘Mimikry & Mimese’ is every fathom as deep as you’d hope it to be… Both sonically, conceptually and how they draw their influence. 

‚Mimikry’ is classic Eulberg; several tales bound together into one immersive narrative where melodic phrases that at first appear disparate, gradually correlate with each other by way of delicately placed rhythmic elements and FX. With spiked melodic hooks, the elements display signs of danger, but the heart and soul – like all Eulberg tracks - is warm and friendly.

‘Mimese’ takes a similar twist to ‘Mimikry’ in that the melodic arrangement is based on distinct themes that gradually align, morph and complement each other. Deftly developed over a looser drum arrangement with much denser cosmic pads, its yet another unique story told in Eulberg’s inimitable way. 

Two whirling immersive narratives, two camouflage concepts that reveal, upon closer inspection, that all is not what it seems. Eulberg’s adventures into the wilderness continue…

The pine trees blew gracefully in the breeze. Their greenery was the only thing to survive what had been a wintery onslaught. For months the country had been battered and hammered by the charge of the wind and rain. It had seemed like it would never end. Now, the spring had finally arrived and that same greenery hung beautifully from the trees of the forest. They had survived another slumber, whilst the rest of the world had crumbled, their presence had remained. 

Hector Plimmer first featured as part of a Bronswood Recordings compilation several years back. Since then he has remained low key, however, his new EP is now upon us and it has already been championed by Gilles Peterson.

Ihre Männchen zählen zu den schwersten flugfähigen Vögeln der Welt. Die Balz ist ein wahres Schauspiel: Der Hahn kehrt seine Flügel und Schwanzfedern um, krümmt den Hals ein und bläht den Kehlsack auf. Von weitem wirkt der Vogel plötzlich wie verwandelt, wie ein großer Federball. Seine Herzschlagrate steigt bei der Balz bis auf 900 Schläge pro Minute an.
