Manzherok Rapids, dawn. Here, the water doesn’t sing — it roars. It rushes, breaks, and crashes against the rocks. Every drop strikes the granite, and the entire river sounds like an orchestra tuned by nature itself. There’s a dizzying power in these rapids: Manzherok is not just a place — it’s an experience, where the thunder of water suddenly becomes music. Manzherok Rapids are where the river turns into pure force. The water races through the cliffs, shattering on stones, swirling into whirlpools, bursting into foam, and carrying with it the breath of Altai. Dark fir slopes rise along the banks, mountains reflect in the water, and the roar of the rapids can be heard for miles. Here, nature gathers everything at once — strength, beauty, and eternal motion.

Mountain Altai VA: Manzherok Rapids is the third part of our Altai chronicle — a story of how sound becomes motion, and a river becomes music. This volume, part of the grand collection celebrating the third anniversary of [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB], takes the listener deeper into Altai — to the source of a new current, a new chapter of our sonic pilgrimage. Here, dub techno ceases to be a genre and becomes an element itself — alive in every sound, every beat, every pause between the waves.

The French, Lyon-based artist Betty launches her own label Girls of the night (GOTN) and makes her debut as a solo producer after several tracks in the duo Nouveau Futur and behind the decks as a DJ. Now stepping out on her own, she takes full creative control to shape an emotional, analog-driven sound. Her first EP, Shadows and Lights, marks the beginning of this new chapter — blending club energy with shadowy 80s -inspired atmospheres.

Between light and darkness, Shadows and Lights explores the tension between desire and detachment, movement and stillness. Inspired by the sound of the 80s, Betty (FR), sculpts analog landscapes where emotions drift in slow motion, shaped by the warmth of a Jupiter and the ethereal harmonies of an Emulator. The EP features three tracks — three variations on melancholy, rhythm, and memory.

🌓 LIGHT
Opening the EP, Light sets the tone with a dark disco groove built for the dancefloor. A hypnotic bassline, glimmering yet shadowed synths, and ghostly choirs create a magnetic, physical track where the light pulses through the dark — suspended somewhere between night’s tension and dawn’s promise.

🌑 LOVE DIES (vocal)
Slowing the tempo down, Love dies dives into a more introspective wave. A deep bass rumbles beneath shimmering cymbals, then the electric guitar strikes in sync with the heavy, pounding kick, igniting the song’s raw pulse. Betty’s voice rises — hypnotic, sensual, slightly disembodied — surrounded by layered choirs that unfold like memories. Analog textures, metallic echoes, and lush synths craft a cinematic, melancholic atmosphere, echoing the romantic shadows of the eighties.

🌘 LOVE DIES (instrumental) :
The final track strips away the vocals, revealing the structure underneath — a hypnotic instrumental version where synths and guitar intertwine like fragments of a forgotten soundtrack.

Shadows and Lights is a journey between nostalgia and modernity — an invitation to dance in the dark.

Zürich-based musician Angelo Repetto returns with his new album Between Worlds: Interference, released on Subject to Restrictions Discs. The record is the result of a unique collaboration with Argentinian visual artist Clara Grabowiecki, extending their immersive live project Between Worlds into a sonic and tangible form.

«This album is a continuation of the deep conversations Clara and I had about concepts of perception that led us to question silence, time, transcendence, and the future», says Repetto. «It's not about finding answers, but about opening spaces where sound, image, and emotion can flow freely.»

Between Worlds: Interference oscillates between hypnotic rhythms, kraut-inspired synth layers, and psychedelic atmospheres – hallmarks of Repetto's style that listeners may recognize from earlier releases such as Sundown Explosion and Kamiokande. At its core it is an invitation into an open dimension where disciplines, experiences, and realities dissolve into one another. It is both a deeply personal statement and a collective journey into new perceptual spaces.
