The Surface of Summer is an IRL self-insert about a bunch of creative people who went to summer camp together getting trapped in a book they wrote.
The role of Mettaton is taken by Zach, also known by WhyDo (short for...well, you read the title). He's earned his Mettaton spot by being by far the most famous person in the cast. His YouTube channel has over 25 thousand subs! I gave him this role back when he was just called "Zach Games Doing," and he at a significantly smaller number. I was one of his first subscribers. I haven't actually gotten to speak to him in quite some time. Makes me feel special knowing I knew a semi-famous YouTuber before he got big tho, lol.
