Early Friday morning in utopia, what better way to greet our star as mother earth rotates into position than with some heart tugging, gorgeous beats at the one and only Bubbles and Bass! It had been over 3 years since I got to play a proper sunrise set at Burning Man, the last being "Alastair @ Burning Man 2014 - Heart Phoenix Sunrise Set" (which is my most popular set on SoundCloud). So, I literally had 3 years worth of the best "sunrise vibe" beats that I had been saving for a special time on playa. 
That special time arrived on this glorious morning when I got the 5-6:30am slot to welcome the suns's energy back for another glorious day on the playa.

This set is packed with emotional, wavvy and downright tear jerking deep house with a somewhat spacey synth driven exterior. Hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed curating and playing the tracks. Much LOVE!

Doing a DUBle 420 Special today! In addition to releasing my Reggae album, I will also be dropping an old school mix. This will be a tribute to Roots, Dub, and Deejays. Reggae paved the way for electronic music(dub was literally the invention of the remix), and Deejays were the first ones who got on the mic and started toasting(aka rapping), which led to inspire hip hop. Anyways hope this mix finds you and makes your day that much more irie!

I Ching, The Oracle of the Cosmic Ways is, in part, a manual for a revolution within the psyche.  It teaches that we can overthrow the pretty tyranny of an isolated intellect and restore the natural balance and total energy of psyche, through a process of insight (identifying, with the help of the Sage, the manifestations of the collective ego within one's own personal ego) and resolution (discovering avenues of liberation from the inner grip of ego). EyeSelf delivers sets  that are diverse and intimate, bringing high energy and positive vibes to the dancefloor. With an appreciation for styles ranging from tech house to deep tech, minimal tech to funk, and afro beats to indie dance, his gift for intertwining them all is uncanny. He has an ability to generate a party atmosphere, inspire joy and inclusion, and create an energetic dance floor in any scenario. 

His love for music led him to his first pair of Technics SL-1200’s in 2003, and ever since then, his passion was revealed. While living in San Francisco, it was in 2008 that his career in music began to flourish, and he fell in love with house and techno music. He has since been crafting his personal expression through DJing the genre while maintaining a healthy relationship with his roots in hip-hop, reggae, and drum’n’bass. 

He was involved in the setup and management of The Kazbah (Burning Man camp) and organized events in Northern California (San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento), Denver and Maui. Eye Self has performed at Burning Man, Pure Vision, CASTxOFF, and other events. He is currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
