Life on Planets is a duo that met in the studio lofts of their east coast hometown, whereby a collaboration fusing indie artrock and electronic music began to take shape. It was a pairing of two dramatically different personas, merging as one for a serendipitous, romantic sound that's now been signed to the Double Standard label.

Life On Planets have recently released an EP 'A Public Affair' which has been hugely popular with 25000 listens on soundcloud in just two weeks! The group have been signed to the label Wolf + Lamb which is home to the likes of Soul Clap, No Regular Play, Deniz Kurtel, Slow Hands, Wolf + Lamb, Voices of Black and more!      

To celebrate the success of this EP, Life On Planets have done a mix for DJ Mag which you can listen to below. The mix has some really cool tracks in it and great smooth transitions, our highlight of the mix is when the Hot Chip remix of Foals - My Number is introduced.

This week's mix is sooo good and perfect for the lovely spring weather we're currently enjoying here in London. It comes from Cameo Culture, who we first became aware of back when he released a lush track called 'Night Swimming' via No.19 Music. Since then he's been working behind-the-scenes with Wolf + Lamb, putting his engineering skills to great use for the excellent label. He's also been hard at work on his own album project, Burning Bright, which is out now... in light of that, we thought we should have a chat with him about the LP as well as giving our Deep House London followers a great mix to listen to! Nature, we learn from the Sage, is Cosmic Consciousness, come pressed into forms. These myriad forms find guidance through their interconnectedness with the Cosmic Consciousness, and in turn feed back their experiences to it. Together they comprise a living whole that evolves from the interaction of the whole with all its parts. Simultaneously, while one part of Cosmic Consciousness is compressed into form, the consciousness in the whole is expanded through what is experienced.

This mix was recorded at CASTxOFF 05, Isla Mujeres, MX 2020.

EyeSelf delivers sets  that are diverse and intimate, bringing high energy and positive vibes to the dancefloor. With an appreciation for styles ranging from tech house to deep tech, minimal tech to funk, and afro beats to indie dance, his gift for intertwining them all is uncanny. He has an ability to generate a party atmosphere, inspire joy and inclusion, and create an energetic dance floor in any scenario. 

His love for music led him to his first pair of Technics SL-1200’s in 2003, and ever since then, his passion was revealed. While living in San Francisco, it was in 2008 that his career in music began to flourish, and he fell in love with house and techno music. He has since been crafting his personal expression through DJing the genre while maintaining a healthy relationship with his roots in hip-hop, reggae, and drum’n’bass. 

He was involved in the setup and management of The Kazbah (Burning Man camp) and organized events in Northern California (San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento), Denver and Maui. Eye Self has performed at Burning Man, Pure Vision, CASTxOFF, and other events. He is currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
