I got "U'd" out of the ARNG without too much difficulty in 2001, simply by telling them I wasn't coming back, and they might as well forget I existed.  Later got a letter that says "Discharge under Honorable Conditions" but ineligible for reenlistment due to willful absence. I'm cool with that.
