People tend to see the desert as a dead environment, but it is abundant in all kinds of flora and fauna.

In the spirit of preserving our environment and for the love of the desert, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah holds a "Sustainable Trees" initiative to raise awareness on the importance of preserving local trees, especially Al Ghaf and the mangrove trees.
