Questo episodio raccoglie racconti e riflessioni sull'occupazione militare in Valsusa. L'episodio non ha pretese di esaustività documentativa circa i numerosi incidenti che hanno visto coinvolti NoTAV e polizia, ma cerca di offrire un quadro, il più schietto e sentito possibile, di come la polizia e l'esercito sono percepiti e osteggiati in Valsusa. Questo lascia spazio a più ampie riflessioni sull'uso strumentale della polizia, sulla democrazia negata e sulla sfiducia nelle forze dell'ordine. L'episodio è qui presentato in una versione più lunga rispetto a quella realizzata per Radio3.

(VALSUSA OUTTAKES) - FRAMMENTI SULLA LOTTA NO TAV  è un lavoro radiofonico di Davide Tidoni. 

Attraverso la voce di alcune persone legate al movimento No TAV, il lavoro raccoglie una serie di riflessioni attorno a temi quali: la progettazione tecnica della linea Torino Lione; il rapporto tra lotta, comunità e trasformazione individuale; e la difesa militare della Grande Opera Inutile.

Programmato su Tre Soldi / RAI Radio3 nel maggio 2023 (https://www.raiplaysound.it/playlist/valsusaouttakesframmentisullalottanotav), il lavoro è stato trasmesso solamente nelle sue prime tre puntate. La diffusione della quarta puntata è stata cancellata poco prima della messa in onda.

ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴇ ᴀʀᴛɪꜱᴛ

Jessica Ekomane is a French-born and Berlin-based electronic musician and sound artist. She creates situations where the sound acts as a transformative element for the space and the audience. Her quadraphonic performances, characterized by their physical affect, seek a cathartic effect through the interplay of psychoacoustics, the perception of rhythmic structures and the interchange of noise and melody. Her ever-changing and immersive sonic landscapes are grounded in questions such as the relationship between individual perception and collective dynamics or the investigation of listening expectations and their societal roots. Her first LP Multivocal was released in 2019 via Important Records. Since then, her work has been extensively presented in festivals, venues, contemporary art spaces and museums across the world. She was one of the fellows in residence for the villa Romana Prize 2023 in Florence.

As we have always dealt with sound as a political category, our activism is based on listening and focuses on the revolutionary potential that is inherent in the sonic. Under the banner of Sonic Agency we want to enforce a sonic activism of opposition and resistance. The artists involved are advocating for social and political transformation. Their sounds lend themselves to global emancipatory struggles, and fights for freedom and equality. The featured sounds aren’t complicit in the silence that surrounds us. They are furious, desperate, crying, paralysed, compassionate and rebellious like us. There is a message in sound that cannot be negated.

Listening is not neutral.
Listening shapes the reality we live in.
Listening is shaped by ethics and politics and leads back to it.
Listening is directly linked to memory and identity.
Listening is as important as speaking.
Listening is an active act.
