Agoni adalah sebuah band asal Yogyakarta yang beranggotakan Fafa (Vokal/Gitar), Erda (Bass/Vokal) dan Dimas (Drum/Vokal). Secara harfiah, Agony/Agonia, dapat diartikan sebagai penderitaan yang luar biasa. Meski Agoni kemudian juga memaknai nama mereka sebagai penderitaan yang luar biasa, nama Agoni muncul sebelum personilnya menelisik sumber harfiah kata itu. Nama Agoni dipilih setelah Fafa rampung membaca sebuah tulisan milik ST Sunardi yang menyinggung soal tiga fase suasana batin: Agonia, Ekstase, dan Joy. Dalam tulisan tersebut, Agonia dimaknai sebagai kegelisahan mendalam yang belum mampu terungkapkan. Merasa bahwa lagu-lagu yang lahir dari band ini banyak membicarakan soal kegelisahan yang berujung pada penderitaan tak tertahankan, kata Agoni yang berasal dari konsep agonia itu pun terpilihlah sebagai nama.
