So happy to welcome Osaka-based ambient musician, co-founder/ label curator of Muzan Editions, and one of the loveliest humans on the planet… Joshua Stefane, aka Endurance, who has gifted us with a very special live recording.

“This set – like a lot of my material – was recorded in a single take. At home in the studio, I have been trying to work on tight, focused sounds that I could recreate in a live setting at a festival or ambient party, and this set is the result of those efforts. I like how the initial intensity of the set slowly recedes, evolving into other, more serene forms of the same sound.
Recorded in March 2024 with a Moog Mother 32, modular synths, and processed field recordings.”

The Observatory - Lynne

For our sixteenth instalment we’ve invited AERAE, a French DJ and producer currently making her way into the deep and tribal techno scene. 

Over the past years she played at numerous stages alongside renowned DJ’s throughout Europe under her former alias, during this period she was ever evolving as an artist. At the beginning of 2024 her debut EP 'Percussive Reverie' was released on Annulled Music, this EP set the tone for a new chapter in her musical journey. It was reviewed as ‘Best Album of the year’ on the popular German magazine GROOVE, which is a big compliment to her producing skills.

“Through this mix, I aimed to capture the feeling of a walk through an enigmatic, slightly dark forest where wild creatures lurk in the shadows. We can hear the river and birds, offering a sense of reassurance on this journey.”

 With his own party ARCHIV at the core, he has been expanding his scope of activities from all over Japan to the rest of the world.
As an entity of singularity, he aims to transform time/space/spirit into unknown realms by arranging multifaceted elements such as the spiritualism of Psychedelic Music, the storytelling nature of House Music, the sci-fi dystopian feel of Detroit Techno and the trance of Minimal Music in a three- dimensional way through his deft mixing. 
His rare presence has been recognized and he has been invited to play at DJ NOBU's Future Terror, Mindgames' The Labyrinth/Balance, and in recent years, has been invited to parties in Asia, Spekki Webu's Mirror Zone 5 Years Tour in EU, System Revival and Georgia's prestigious Bassiani, his circle of resonance continues to spread out.

OCCA - Requiem

The European outdoor festival season is slowly winding down, the light starts to get a little more golden, the air a little crispier and the idea of turning a little more inward doesn’t feel too strange anymore. With summer almost over, still two events “jewels” remain for ambient and spiral electronic aficionados. Some will make the trek to the Labyrinth Festival far away in Japan, a festival that became an inspiration for so many others. Japan, though, will also be represented at Les Chaos Ambiants. It’s an intimate event with a purposeful curation, nestled in a nature reserve in France. The Japanese artist Occa will play for the first time in France and bring his unique transcendental way of DJing to Burgundy. Occa has been organizing the ARCHIV events for over 10 years at Precious Hall in Sapporo, located in the far north. Having played for Nobu’s Future Terror and the aforementioned Labyrinth Festival, he is a fixture in the Japanese scene and now gains international attention. 

For "Delayed with..." Occa shares a mix recorded at the atmospheric Moment Festival, and it's warping and rumbling, twisting, and circulating there as if forest and mountain spirits congregate to show you the way. Where to? You’ll see.

"The mix I provided for Delayed uses a recording from the Japanese outdoor Festival Moment 2024. Moment Festival is held in a sacred zone in Nara Prefecture, which has significant origins in Japanese history. Since my set was on the festival's first day, I structured the two-hour set as a ceremony to mark the beginning of the three-day program, aiming to guide listeners into a sacred zone."
