Alongside kindred flame Haruka, he’s half of improv/jockey act Twin Peaks. Solo, he’s a techno veteran (and two time Podcast invitee) with a hunger for imported fare. Influenced by an abundance of Japanese dub and jazz, and member of avant-garde hip-hop ensemble Think Tank, DJ Yazi’s protean inclinations spawned Black Smoker Records once upon a time, and residencies at Tokyo staples, El Nino and Konvektion. These continue, and with each new trip around the sun Yazi makes several across the globe. From coast to coast, his laser focus, heed for detail and undeniable skill are worth a raver’s pilgrimage all their own. A mixture of deep, trippy sounds and off the wall references make for a singular sound as Bassiani Podcast 160 will attest. This one’s a slow burner, a live recording from the second night of Future Terror’s 20th Anniversary on the Horoom floor: oddball and laid back, a fresh taste of what this decorated pioneer has up his playful sleeve.

With the dog days of summer in full swing, we're really excited to welcome Iffie from Athens as our special guest for the 316th episode of the Deep Breakfast Series.

Iffie is a dj & founder of “Into The Abyss” podcast series, based in Athens.
Her sound explores dark and deep elements with an affinity for modern techno.
She loves making her sets as cohesive as possible, intertwining ambient & deep techno by leaving no room for sudden transitions.
In 2020 she founded “Into The Abyss”. Through her widely-acclaimed platform she contributes to the scene with podcasts & premieres of new releases, promoting & supporting various artists & labels.

About the mix:
"This one hour mix moves through ambient and experimental sounds with a personal touch. It was recorded during a time of change, and that feeling shaped the flow. The mood is emotional and reflective, built around soft textures, slow shifts and quiet intensity. It’s less about structure and more about capturing a moment. Influenced by sounds such as bebop or progressive psychedelic rock and focused on experimental and ambient music rather than clubbing in its beginnings, Pharma later delved into deep and immersive sound, creating an amalgam that has been interconnected over time to finally take shape in both listening and clubbing sets with a specific musical discourse in each context, connected to dub, trippy sounds and ambient landscapes, where the density between lights and shadows promotes mental activity that prevails over physical activity.
