i went to the city
to get my tarot read
paid 40 something dollars
Just to clear my head
she asked me for a question
i said i have a few
Like "is everybody suffering
and can there be any truth"
she said "this aint about the universe
darling it’s about you"
and i said "i just want some direction
is that something you could do?

Cause i need some clarity

well i gave those cards a shuffle
and gave them back to her
she layed them so carefully
about 10 if i remember
she starting point at each one
told me everything it meant
but it felt like she was having
more her own conversation
i said "i dont wanna know about now
i want to know what lies ahead"
she said “that’s something i dont do sir
if you want to know the future you must live
and if you came in here thinking that i had held some crystal ball
then i dont know what you came here for can please explain yourself cause"

but after a while
i started to get upset
let’s reshuffle the cards
and play poker instead
cause then at least
one of us stands to win something
