Dynamo Dreesen is a man with some serious credentials. One half of the audacious techno duo Dresvn and the chef of the Acido imprint, Dreesen delights us with a rare DJ mix that delves into the depths of his vinyl collection. Coated with the sweet sheen of a Sony tape deck, it’s a journey into the many influences that populate the Acido universe: Otherworldy chirping atmospheres, Chicago speed jack, breakneck junglism, borderline electronic funk, italo oddities, radio brick-a-brack. This very wonderful mess is held together by an irresistible pulse that deftly balances the hypnotic with the hickuppy. A stunner!

Play a relaxing video game. Chat with friends. Fall asleep to menu music. Wake up to end credits. Read a worrying article. 
Brush your teeth. Wait for the weekend. Peek out the window. 

This mix is built around the time-dilating quality of loops, inspired by the kind of “holding pattern” we’re all in. Full tracks, isolated phrases, processed recordings, and original sonic material. The initial inspiration for the mix came from Wonja’s re-discovery of a PC game from her childhood, and its unique sound design. Loops of in-game ambience, engineered by Bay Area composer Brenda Hutchinson, appear throughout the mix. 
 
The mix itself is a loop, beginning and ending in the same setting. Play it on repeat or for any amount of time.

Written for a rained out set at Strawberry Fields in 2016, performed on the proverbial elevator to the stairs that is a Steeplejack party in 2017 and now unearthed for Skylab in 2020.

We’re happy to welcome our resident Diamin with the second episode of her monthly show Circadian Rhythm with the guest Athene.
How does the presence or absence of light regulates our internal biological processes and moods?
Circadian rhythms are endogenous time-keeping systems that synchronize most organisms, from unicellular cyanobacterium to humans, to the external solar cycle. Since light information is the most potent synchronizing factor, biological clocks coordinate the individual’s internal physiological and biochemical processes according to light and dark cycles.
The show is divided into two sets of 1 hour and the musical selection of each DJ reflects those moments: day or night. In this episode Diamin (CL) is in charge of the first part of the program, and Athene (UK) of the second.
