The second strike of Leipzig’s new electro offshoot sets Friedrich Ernst on the offensive. With these four new tracks he progressed his sound signature from a playful but reflected 8bit world soundtrack on SELF001 to a firm and gritty b-boy attitude. With SELF002 the do-it-yourself label team of DJ Unisex and Friedrich Ernst back up nothing less than their label mission: "We believe in the human mind as a self-learning system" – and it has the basement dance in the eye.

Classic electro otakus will parté about the succinct elements that fits each other seamlessly on Class Beat while the groove remains alert and phantasmagoric.

Back 2 The Ol_ Skool invites two breakdance crews to battle out who owns the floor: the pale electro robot boys on the left and the hoover sound loving UK hardcore girls on the right.

Wildstyle is the living proof that a tight 808 groove still smashes especially hard when complimented with a proper breakbeat. Best played loud and from vinyl.

The last bit of the whole enchilada is almost tranquilizing until you realise how far your stone rolled already. Rhythm Control is a crowd pleaser with endless qualities.

Collaboration partner Dominik Widmann delivers the stunning artwork for their ongoing conceptual series with his acrylic paintings. Included as A2 inlay print in every record.

Waves rippled gently on the shore, glistening like a million diamonds under the hot sun. The best way to see the coastline was by boat, there was so much hidden from those who only explored the area on dry land. They missed all the secret gems the water had to offer; the coves that glittered with golden sands and the old caves that led to secluded sparkling pools to dip your toes in. Out here on the ocean, there was so much to take in but it was only those who took the risk that would reap the rewards...

A new year, a new label: Berlin DJ and producer Acidfinky launches her Twisting Knobs imprint into the world with a VA release featuring music from three artists and herself. Dubbed as music "for travelling in space", the dreamy sounds on offer come courtesy of Guava, rayne and Leipzig-based producer bavedacon who's behind our pick. Marking the drummer, DJ and radio host's first electronic music release, 'tretboot' sees him exploring a softer, more meditative side of electro with lush pads, squelchy acid lines and crisp percussion.

All profits from the release will be donated to 'Women Life Freedom', a Berlin-based collective who are working to highlight and support the voices of the feminist uprising in Iran.

Were super hyped to start off the new year with a killer premiere, by non other than an artist stirring  up some real currents with their work.

Happy to be able to share the awesome track, 'Conditions of Weightlessness' by the fantastic Acidfinky, who is a Berlin-based DJ and producer, member of "THF Radio", co-founder of the feminist collective "BLVSH" and mind behind "Twisting Knobs Records".

"Weightlessness is a condition when your body is in free fall and the acceleration is downward at gravity. This condition can be defined by the term zero gravity. So weightlessness occurs when there is zero support of force on our body."

This track sits next to some amazing music on the first release on Twisting Knobs. It's a collection of four dreamy, breaks and electro induced tracks. Made for travelling in space. So don't sleep on this and cop it now.

The release of Stuttgart techno boss David Löhlein’s HOTEL POOL EP earlier this year brought his young, Latin-inflected sound to Berlin-based BNR, and now with HOTEL POOL REMIXES, Löhlein’s tracks are traveling the world.

The first stop is Spain, where DJ SWISHERMAN (along with BOYS NOIZE himself) expand “HOTEL POOL’s” arrangement with a Carnaval of samples, accents and build-ups. A short hop north sees the UK’s Chloé Robinson and DJ ADHD compressing “CUANDO VENGAS” into a pressure chamber of tooth-rattling bass, as staccato percussion skitters off of the steel walls.  France’s u.r.trax brings out the alien in “LA PISCINA” over a Baltimore-club kick pattern, while retaining its galloping, double-timed arpeggiated bass. With “TIPSY DANCING (Hotel Pool Cut),” Löhlein returns home to join buzzing locals MARA & VELA, who jump on the mic for a pop-forward rework that reflects the vibrant crossover sound ascendant in Germany.  Ending with the original mix of the title track, HOTEL POOL REMIXES completes its journey as energetically as it began - you don’t feel jet lagged if you never sleep.

Originally part of a small crop of American artists inspired by dubstep, garage, grime, jungle and other ‘nuum sounds, Kastle has transitioned through multiple aesthetic iterations since he burst into the popular consciousness 8+ years ago. The past year saw him re-focus his idiosyncratic lens on his roots of UKG and put out several tracks that received regular rotation on radio and many DJs top charts. Whether it was the instant cult classic "4 Real", the collaborations with Mind Of A Dragon, or his remixes for legends like Scott Diaz and AC Slater.

With that momentum we are happy to present "Get Right Inside", a compilation hand selected and mixed by Kastle as he continues to explore garage musics timeless sounds with hints of UK funky that perfectly fit the vibe. Half of the album is exclusive and brand new, a testament to the artists dedication to new sounds and building his own unique world.

The mix kicks off on a low-key vibe with tracks from On1 and Duncan Powell, both a bit ethereal and subtle in their details. We quickly get into an exclusive from Kastle himself, with a vocal number featuring Olivia-Louise & SAZ. As the mix rolls on it gets into some dusty bits from Exit99 and Opus -- a classic sound but still forever in the present moment. Shortly after Higgo's smooth "Interlude" the mix transitions into a few UK funky numbers from some of the best: Roska, Leda Stray, High Class Filter and Ozwald. This allows for a nice transition into some 4x4 from Tuff Culture before ending the mix on the 2-step vibe with ZeroFG's remix of "Darkside" and Cellardore's exclusive, "Get Right Inside", which you will recognize as the namesake for the album -- a nod to the compilers interest and focus on using music to affect positive psychological change inside our minds. Finally, we've got a special Kastle remix of Mind Of A Dragon's "L.T.T.M." featuring Shantie before we close out with Four40’s very own Conrad Glimpse
