Hello lovely people, finallyyyyy here it is: my set from Akasha Festival 2021. 

I will never forget this magical morning. This was just something else... working on the Akasha grounds for weeks and then releasing it all into this 6 hours sunrise set that I got to play. So grateful for this morning and that hell of a vibe!!

PS: the reason it took me so long to upload this set is that I had to re-record a little missing part. I played for 4 hours and was then told to stop. So I packed up all my things and unplugged the recorder. As it turned out I was allowed to play another 2 magical hours. I pressed play on my recorder and 1,5 hours into the second part of my set I realized that I didn’t plug the recorder into the mixer. At least I luckily recorded the athmo of that part and was therefore able to recreate the missing piece at home last week. So HERE WE GO! ❤️

I've always been a huge fan of longer set times as it enables me to fully tell my stories without any boundaries, which is why the concept of Flow Sessions deeply resonated with me early on. I deep dived in my library for days and after everything was set, I've just let it flow in my studio for 3 hours 33 minutes and 33 seconds, fluently grooving to higher BPMs, playing some of the most beautiful tracks I've collected over the years. Some hidden gems, some long forgotten beauties, a few new unreleased tracks of mine... I hope you flow as much as I did while recording this and it makes the upcoming autumn and winter months a little more bearable to you if you're based in the northern hemispheres. If you're to be found in the southern hemispheres I hope it makes you smile to the sun and appreciate life and music to the fullest. Isn't music such a beautiful thing?!

Flow Sessions 087 - Fabian Krooss

I am thrilled to share the recording of my set at Amores Experience with you! This set was beyond special for me as it marked the start of my first Mexico tour, while undoubtedly also being the highlight ✨ Playing in the agave fields of Oaxaca with the full moon setting just behind me surrounded by such a warm hearted crowd, so many friends and a next level production made my heart skip several beats 🫠

Me having severe food poisoning for the whole night somehow made this even more special. It was such a close call but I am so grateful I got to play this set after all and enjoy this magical 2,5 hour long moment… high on nothing but you ❤️‍🔥

Let me send you to the moon and back, on a wild journey through many genres, a few unreleased tunes of mine as well as some of my current favorites 🚀🌕

This weekend was one never ending flow from start to finish with the best crew and a booking that made my heart skip several beats. Haven’t danced so much in a while!

If that wasn’t already enough, playing for you Saturday into sunrise was one of the most special gigs I’ve had in my entire life. Seeing Wiese fill up so damn quickly surrounded by the most amazing humans meant the world to me and I enjoyed every second of this ride to the fullest!! 🚀

Sometimes every now and then everything is just right. It’s an unbelievable feeling that‘s hard to put into a few words as so much is coming together in this one moment in time ✨

You moved me to tears. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that played a part in this magical experience, I really needed this!

Happy 15th anniversary to you Sisyphos 🦆 Thank you for being there and for enriching Berlin’s day and nightlife in unimaginable ways 🌈  

You were among the first who believed in me and gave my music a platform. 5 years ago I played for you for the very first time at the beach on a sunny Sunday morning and I still remember this morning vividly to this day. In a way it feels like the starting point of my musical career, although I had already produced and DJed before for about 4 years. But in your walls I experienced the beauty that lies in sharing music to the fullest for the very first time, endlessly fueling my desire to evolve and contribute my music to this scene.  

Many sets on the beach followed over the years as well as several at Dampfer and Wintergarten. Every single time I leave the club fulfilled and beyond grateful for being able to have a space in which I can fully express myself musically without any boundaries and experience so much magic that lies in the connection on and off the dancefloor ✨  When I pluck my USB into the decks at Strand I know the next 3-4 hours are going to be pure bliss. Always slightly nervous and excited at first, followed by full immersion in the moment, in the music and in the collective ecstacy of being able to freely (!) dance together outside in the middle of this city we call home. Never taking this for granted 🙏🏼  

So here we are 5 years later… thank you for inviting me once again to play at the beach and guide you into this beautiful Sunday morning on your 15 year anniversary. Thank you to everyone that got up early or stayed up late to share this moment with me. I’m feeling so lucky to have such wonderful friends and human beings around me that share and feel my passion and support me along the way. Really, thank you SO MUCH!  

So this is not only a thank you to Sisyphos but also a heartfelt thanks to you for all your support and love this year which somehow culminated in this rather spontaneous „end of summer set“ at the beach.

Wow Skalar Festival, this weekend was more than I could have ever asked for 🥲 

After being on the road for so long in the past months it was so beautiful to play at a Berlin festival again surrounded by all my friends, fellow colleagues and acquaintances that have grown to ridiculous numbers over the years 😅 Feeling so touched by all the support and the love that came my way and this crazy morning vibe really warmed my heart… Damn you looked beautiful ❤️‍🔥 

I haven’t heard such good music in a while, making it absolutely impossible to leave the floors. Thank you for this amazing booking, for creating this beautiful space that was filled with so much love and last but not least for these amazingly tuned sound sound systems that have let one enjoy the music to the fullest 🫠 Biggest props also to Ivi & crew for creating this beautiful stage. Truly felt like home!! 

I could write so much more and thank so many people for their incredible sets and contributions to this festival but leaving now with a big hug and the recording of my set! Hope you enjoy this energetic morning ride as much as I do ♥️

Serving up hot new joints one after the other, label habitué Fabian Krooss is back with a vengeance this spring. Taking his talents to Kotori again, Krooss takes us on a compellingly poetic ride with 'Time'. An invitation to "remain present with the moment rather than letting your potentially negative thought spirals and judgements distract you from the good stuff right in front of you", this new effort finds the German producer blending his unmatched tune-making with a sixth-sense for manufacturing groovy tracks that hold a life-affirming message.

Built around a sample of T-Bone Walker’s Hypin’ Woman Blues, 'Keep Movin' is slo-burning house on a dreamy tip, mixing a "deep, steady rolling bassline with the lightness of sparkly, floaty and harmonious synthlines on top perfectly capturing the message of the track". The title-track, 'Time' - a collaboration with Auckland/New Zealand based vocalists Mia Kober & DirdyGerdi, is about "acting rather than complaining, about making things better, rather than watching the world go down". Through a chiselled piece of sound design moving from appeasing ethereality to sizzling tension, Krooss has us shifting gears, summoning that deep-seated will in us to regain control over our life, to reclaim our time and inhabit it afresh. I am SO excited to share my set from Shipwrecked Festival with you today. Without a doubt the highlight of my last couple of months on tour and one of my favorite sets I’ve ever played 🫠

Sometimes everything just falls into place... 18.000km from home, the vibiest of all sunsets, surrounded by so many smiling faces, sandwiched in between some of my very best friends, the most insane curation from start to finish… I’m still speechless when I think of this weekend and all the joy that it brought me.

I’ve put quite some thought into this set and I think it all came together just right. I hope it brings you, my dear Kiwi’s, some heart warming memories of summer - and for my friends in the northern hemisphere, a little taste of what’s ahead of us 🌞

Sunset @ Shipwrecked Festival 2025

Took me a little while to wind down and process what happened at Fusion. Pfiouuuuuu… what a ride 🚀

So grateful to have gotten the chance again to contribute to this incredible festival. Playing sunset at Seebühne on Saturday evening to a sea of people, friends, family & so many familiar faces was such a dream coming true! Thank you all for coming & the vibes 🥹

I actually got the request to play at Seebühne quite last minute, just 3 weeks before the festival and with just 1,5 weeks left in the studio… F*ck me, this was stressful - as it was so important for me to show you what I’ve been working on in the studio, to play a set that’s fresh, truly feels like me and tells a story, like I always try to do. I also wanted it to be uplifting and create something that feels like a little breather - with everything that’s going on in today’s world.

It was pretty stressful and everything but easy to finish all these tunes in such a short period of time & find the right puzzle pieces (probably also because of my high expectations to myself) but from all the love and sweet messages that I’ve been receiving so far I guess I must have done an alright job 🫠

So yeah, thank you so much for all your love and appreciation and for more than 10k plays already! Truly means a lot🫰

"Like, how is this even possible? - These are the words of my fiancée opening my set at this year's Maxa x Mayan Warrior linkup. I did ask myself the same thing standing on the deer, gazing into the sea of people and art cars in front of us, lost for words at the beauty of this moment. 

It was the first big night after the dust had settled and the rain had dried, and let me tell you - this set was beyond my wildest dreams. So much fun, incredibly special for so many reasons, and pretty surreal, especially considering that I had just arrived on the playa a few hours before after two exhausting days of travel. 
I walked the last miles through the desert to make it in time…

I didn’t upload any of my productions over the past 1,5 years, but I have been making music more than ever. 
I didn’t upload any of those tracks yet because my personal expectations became much higher. When I work on sets it takes me months of collecting and arranging all those carefully chosen tracks. When I work on my productions, I really go into detail and spend months perfecting the production, arrangement and mix... because I really want to tell a story with my music! I can’t wait to be done with my studies and solely focus on my music. Until then my output will be rare, that I’m sure of. 

But the day has come: I am finally uploading a new track of mine. A reinterpretation of Ludovico Einaudi’s “Una Mattina”. I took me quite a while to finish it, I even had it mastered two times, but now I just have to upload it to give you a glimpse of what I’ve been doing and how I’ve evolved over the past months (and to not go totally crazy while remixing and rearranging it another thousand times). 
And let me tell you one more thing... the best is yet to come! 😊

So, meine Lieben. Hier ist es, mein Set aus dem Sisyphos.
Ich bin immer noch überwältigt und sprachlos. Es sind genau diese Momente, die die Musik und die Szene für mich so besonders machen. Frieden und Ekstase im Paradies, lachende & tanzende Menschen, so weit das Auge reicht, das Leben am feiern, verbunden durch die universelle Sprache der Musik… Dieser Morgen und Tag war ein ganz besonderer für mich, den ich so schnell nicht vergessen werde. Ich habe mein Herz ausgeschüttet für euch! Und ich hätte mir keine schöneren Reaktionen wünschen können. All diese strahlenden Gesichter sowie die Gespräche an diesem Tag haben mich zutiefst berührt und gefreut. Gänsehaut all over… immer und immer wieder! Danke!

So, I finally made it home after a long and exciting weekend at Feel Festival and managed to upload my set. I had the honour to open the Scheune floor with a three-hour sunset-set-set-set. It was beautiful to see how the floor filled up more and more with every track and the weekend slowly started to get crazy.

Here it is, my set from this years Feel Festival! <3 
I must say, I find it always quite difficult to play short DJ-Sets because it doesn't give me the time I need to really experiment and explore different moods. So, knowing that I would only have 1,5 hours to tell my story I tried to not stick to one mood but explore a lot of different tracks and play a rather diversified set. I feel like after 4 days of festival this can be quite refreshing! I ended up playing a little while longer after all but I decided to only load up the first 1,5 hours of my set anyways. 
Thanks to everyone that stopped by and made this possible. Looking forward to everything that's yet to come. Picking up a lot of inspiration on this little festival journey which I'll translate into loads of new music soon!

Es war einmal... und wird wieder sein! :) 

One year ago around the same time I opened the Strand floor at Sisyphos on a sunny Sunday morning. Once again it turned out to be quite a special and memorable one for me... The atmosphere on this morning was just from another planet. 

Goooooood, how I miss this... It makes me really sad to be missing out on this at the moment, as I, and probably many others out there, would so desperately need this right now. Not being able to play my music out loud to an audience is really tough for me, since I've spent so much time in the studio lately.

But anyways, being too sentimental isn't the solution either so I decided to upload my set from last year. I get goosebumps every time I listen to this set, those memories are still so vivid even one year later. 

So, I raise my imaginary glass of Sekt to everybody that shared this moment with me and will share it with me virtually.

 Wie würdest du deinen Stil beschreiben und wen möchstest du damit erreichen?

Verspielt, frech, groovy, minimalistisch und melodisch wären so Adjektive die mir da in den Sinn kommen. Welchem Genre ich mich zuordnen würde - keine Ahnung. Mein Ziel ist es immer gewesen meinen eigenen Stil zu entwickeln, eine eigene Handschrift sozusagen. Meine Musik setzt sich aus vielen, unterschiedlichen Einflüssen zusammen. Von einschneidenden Erlebnissen in Berliner Clubs oder Festivals bis hin zu Produzenten wie Midas 104, O/Y, Roy Rosenfeld oder Frivolous, die mich immer wieder aufs Neue inspirieren. Aus all diesen Einflüssen koche ich dann mein eigenes Süppchen. 
Wen ich mit meiner Musik erreichen möchte? Jeden der die Sprache meiner Musik versteht. Für mich ist Musik etwas Einzigartiges. Manche Tracks haben eine ganz besondere Wirkung auf mich und lösen unglaublich schöne Emotionen in mir aus. Letztendlich möchte ich mit meiner Musik genau das Gleiche bei Anderen erreichen. Ich möchte Menschen überraschen, berühren aber gleichzeitig auch ein bisschen verwirren und überfordern. Mit persönlich fehlt das alles nämlich ein bisschen beim Feiern. Mir fehlt häufig die Emotion und Einzigartigkeit in der Musik. Letztendlich ist das auch Geschmacksache, aber ich denke ein bisschen verrücktere happy Musik tut uns allen gut.

Du bist ja in den letzten 1-2 Jahren überaus aktiv gewesen, was eigenes Produzieren und den Partykosmos angeht. Magst du uns ein bisschen was über deinen Werdegang erzählen?

Ja das kann man so sagen. Vor allem war ich sehr aktiv im Studio. Ich habe im Frühjahr 2019 mein Studium abgeschlossen und mich daraufhin eigentlich voll und ganz der Musik gewidmet. Aber auch in den Jahren zuvor war die Musik immer mein Anker und meine Leidenschaft. 
Im August 2018 hatte ich mein Debutrelease auf Dantze, 2019 habe ich dann genutzt um meine Musik weiterzuentwickeln und somit sehr viel Zeit im Studio verbracht. 2020 erblickt nun endlich mehr Musik von mir das Licht der Welt. Im März habe ich 'Insomniac' auf Serafin Audio Imprint released, vor zwei Tagen erschien dann eine EP mit zwei Titeln von mir auf Weirdos Records und Ende Juli und im August folgen noch zwei Nummern auf Einmusika Recordings und Stil vor Talent. Darauf freue ich mich sehr! Es ist ein sehr schönes Gefühl wenn die eigene Musik ein Zuhause findet. 

Kannst du uns noch etwas über diesen Podcast erzählen?

Viele Menschen verbinden mit einer Afterhour entweder harten Techno oder Downtempo. Ich kann mich auf einer Afterhour durchaus auch an solcher Musik erfreuen, am meisten holt mich jedoch flotte, minimalistische, verspielte und abwechslungsreiche Musik ab.
Wenn ich an Afterhour denke, hab ich den Kater Kiosk vor Augen. Ein Gläschen Sekt auf Eis in der einen Hand, mit der anderen hält man sich an den Seilen fest, denn die Beine können eigentlich nicht mehr. Das Einzige was einen noch bei Laune hält ist die Musik. Für eine gelungene Afterhour gehört natürlich noch weit mehr dazu als nur gute Musik, aber spätestens wenn die Kräfte langsam schwinden, steht und fällt eine Party für mich mit der Musik. Denn am Ende ist Musik die beste Droge. 
So gesehen ist dieses Set ein gesunder Mischkonsum aus einzigartigen Produktionen, genau die richtige Mischung um bei Laune zu bleiben und zu tanzen bis das Licht angeht.

Fabian Krooss presents Afterhour Sounds Podcast Nr. 197

I played a few smaller gigs this year, here and there during this first year of Covid. Though I must say, nothing beats a proper festival performance. Saturday to Sunday night from 2.30 until 5.00 I had the honor of playing @ Wilde Möhre's Puppenräuber. What a beautiful experience this was all around!
An integral part of my life has been missing for the past months, almost a year even if you also count the winter months. It felt like this set released a lot of tension that accumulated during the quiter months before. Thank you for this Wilde Möhre <3 
The next months during this neverending pandemic will be tough, but I hope this set will shine a little light over them. 
Let's hope for the best for 2021!

After an exciting week filled with extremely good premieres we go back to The Dark Days series with none other than Fabian Krooss. Now that part of our team moved to Berlin, we found ourselves reunited with this blonde radiant being with an endless smile and an exquisite taste for music. 

We visited him at his home studio to dive in an EP that is expected later in 2021. 

For now let this wonderbeing take you on his psychedelic journey and let his music be the sunshine to your cold winter day.. And for those the family that are lucky enough to spend today somewhere warm and sunny, please enjoy this with your feet in the sand.
