Hello lovely people, finallyyyyy here it is: my set from Akasha Festival 2021. 

I will never forget this magical morning. This was just something else... working on the Akasha grounds for weeks and then releasing it all into this 6 hours sunrise set that I got to play. So grateful for this morning and that hell of a vibe!!

PS: the reason it took me so long to upload this set is that I had to re-record a little missing part. I played for 4 hours and was then told to stop. So I packed up all my things and unplugged the recorder. As it turned out I was allowed to play another 2 magical hours. I pressed play on my recorder and 1,5 hours into the second part of my set I realized that I didn’t plug the recorder into the mixer. At least I luckily recorded the athmo of that part and was therefore able to recreate the missing piece at home last week. So HERE WE GO! ❤️

I am thrilled to share the recording of my set at Amores Experience with you! This set was beyond special for me as it marked the start of my first Mexico and USA tour, while undoubtedly also being the highlight ✨ Playing in the agave fields of Oaxaca with the full moon setting just behind me surrounded by such a warm hearted crowd, so many friends and a next level production made my heart skip several beats 🫠

Me having severe food poisoning for the whole night somehow made this even more special. It was such a close call but I am so grateful I got to play this set after all and enjoy this magical 2,5 hour long moment… high on nothing but you ❤️‍🔥

Let me send you to the moon and back, on a wild journey through many genres, a few unreleased tunes of mine as well as some of my current favorites 🚀🌕

✔️ What are your musical influences?
 
90s hip hop, but also trip hop like Massive Attack, Hooverphonic are my early influences, then alternative rock and since Melt 2006 electronic music. I saw Jamie Lidell and Phonique together there and was blown away!
 
✔️ What is your musical background?
 
I play the piano and went to a music high school. Since 2014 I've been a booker in various clubs (Farbernseher Club, Promenaden Eck)

✔️ What makes good afterhour?
 
Relaxation, devotion, being free
 
✔️ Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

It was my first gig at the Watergate Club - I used to be a guest there a lot, and also organized the Berlin Music Days Festival for the Watergate in 2011-2013. So it was a home game - but being on the same line up as BONOBO was exciting. Unfortunately, the filter is set too extreme in between. It had sounded different live :-)
 
✔️ What was your experience of the set you recorded?
I did the warm up!
Watergate filled up quickly and the crowd was immediately in to it. I had a lot of friends there who carried the energy even further.

Dear Garbicz 🌈  My set is up in the cloud and so am I ☁️

This weekend was one never ending flow from start to finish with the best crew and a booking that made my heart skip several beats. Haven’t danced so much in a while!

If that wasn’t already enough, playing for you Saturday into sunrise was one of the most special gigs I’ve had in my entire life. Seeing Wiese fill up so damn quickly surrounded by the most amazing humans meant the world to me and I enjoyed every second of this ride to the fullest!! 🚀

Sometimes every now and then everything is just right. It’s an unbelievable feeling that‘s hard to put into a few words as so much is coming together in this one moment in time ✨

You moved me to tears. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that played a part in this magical experience, I really needed this!

This is the recording of one of my favorite gigs so far. It was my second time at the beautiful, lovingly hosted Funkloch Festival and I had the pleasure to play on the main stage on Friday evening, right into sunset. It had been a hot day and the forecast showed heavy rains which I hoped would wait until I finished. They didn't and so about 45 mins into my set it started pouring like crazy. I didn't expect many people to stay but amazingly almost no one left to find a dry spot and so the whole floor was filled with soaking wet people dancing in the rain like there's no tomorrow. Still gives me goosebumps everytime I think about it ♥

🗯🗯 How did Corona change your artist life?🗯🗯

As I became a mother the second time end of 2019, Corona did not change that much in my artistlive in it’s first hard lockdown time, because I've only been home once anyway. Then time came I could have start business as usual but clubs were still closed. Since May 2020 I've been playing in various live streams from various clubs and organizers. It’s really great work whats happening with all those livestreams everywhere, but this is not the same like playing infront of real people... missing this a LOT!!!

🗯🗯 Where did you record the mix and how did you feel? 🗯🗯

I recorded this mix at home. In the nighttimes while my children slept. When I listen to my favorite music without the noise of children and the everyday worries, I feel happy, easy and free from all these corona restrictions.

🗯🗯 What are your wishes for the time after Corona? 🗯🗯

A change in many areas of life. Corona shows us limits in our way of life and I think it was time for that. you can’t just want to get more and more...

‘Music is my anchor, my passion, my favorite form of expression’, Fabian says, adding: ‘I want to surprise’. It’s this belief in freedom that drives his work as an artist, unafraid to experiment and craft a profoundly personal sound in the process. A juxtaposition often sits at the heart of his tracks, as Fabian sprinkles lush or mischievous melodies over springy, sometimes elastic and other times static rhythms, nodding to organic and minimal house at once. It’s Fabian’s deep-rooted feeling for sound that fuse these disparate motifs into an irresistible whole as his productions unfold and flourish with intricate details and surprising touches, always united under a tight groove.

All of these addictive attributes are equally omnipresent when Fabian helms the booth – with a nonchalance rooted in pure joy that’s perceivable in an instant. Here, again, he intrinsically becomes the storyteller, weaving an authentic narrative while turning the room upside down. Whether that’s with a sunny selection at Sisyphos Strand, peak-time power at Bucht der Träumer, Wilde Möhre or Feel Festival or a dubbed-out affair for Afterhour Sounds. While by no means a recent presence in Berlin with past gigs at favourites like Kater Blau, Sisyphos, or Ritter Butzke, the last years took Fabian further afield to festivals like The Monastery, Bucht der Träumer, Feel, scene highlight ADE or shows around the world in Oaxaca, Tulum, Zanzibar, New York, Miami, Washington, Seattle, Istanbul, Amsterdam and many more.
