ARDOR spreads it's wings over the international scene with adding the talented Dutch duo Hush & Sleep to their bill. The carefully crafted Valdar EP created by the Maastricht based duo narrates cyclical glorious myths that consist of a sequence of perfectly composed harmonic built-ups and herculean drum kicks throughout this poetic journey. Valdar's tale starts with mesmerising rolling synths and captive trumpets followed by the profound signature kick of the talented duo that resembles the creation of cosmos sound. Yrsa then creates a very unique atmospheric build up and an extremely well composed rolling baseline with a hypnotic minimal sample in the background, creating a euphoric feeling throughout the saga. The journey goes on with Ysteri, floating and progressing on wards and upwards with a combination of triumphant melodies that describes the feeling of well deserved battle. Italian duo Speaking Minds affiliated with Berlin based label Aeon then bless us with a reworked that is very unique than their usual choice of sounds,consolidating well constructed snares and remarkable peak moments.

Release Info: 
SINCOPAT is a label set up in 2010 by Spanish producer AFFKT and his friend Alberto Sola. Known for its melodic sound, the label has an open minded approach to House and Techno music. 

Many are aware of SINCOPAT and its impressive roster of artists that have seen recent releases feature music from the likes of Gabriel Ananda, dubspeeka, Vince Watson, Eric Volta and David Keno. 

Making his second appearance on SINCOPAT is British artist Ten Ven who boasts previous releases on labels including 303Lovers, Eton Messy Records, Noir Music and Armada. 

A secretive artist, little is known about Ten Ven who likes to let his music do the talking, but with guest mixes for people like Shadow Child on Rinse FM and a sound that fuses melody with soul sometimes music speaks louder than words. 

"Gandia" has fluttering percussion and a filtered synth line that blossoms into a stabbing rhythm as expertly executed textures add a startling sense of drama. Epic in proportion, the track's fragmented sections are joined by subtle modulation making it as captivating as it is unpredictable. Dancefloor focused and melodic, it’s fair to say this track is a true journey into sound.

Title track No Train To Akasaka is quite a moody techie gem with tasty stabs, complimented by cool fx and some crisp swung beats.

Shame On You is a groovy edged chugger, that builds with phat pads adding drama, while occasional synth hots give the track another dimension.

Black Brown Hazelnut has deep mood, while the big synth line adds and interesting pattern that develops throughout.

Three wicked tracks, all deep and destined to do some serious damage to the dancefloor.

Veteran Dutch producer Mason marks his debut on Kittball Records this December with a new single titled ‘Live On Dreams’, featuring a solid remix from Sincopat boss AFFKT.

Mason has been creating groove heavy, melodic club music since 2004, experiencing mainstream success but also cementing his position on the independent circuit with releases on LouLou Records, Boys Noize and Bunny Tiger. Add to this his own label, Animal Language, and a major record deal with Island, the scope of this Dutchman’s work ethic tells no lie, and this December sees him build on an extensive back catalogue with a fiery new single on Juliet Sikora and Tube and Berger’s Kittball Records.

‘Live On Dreams’ gets things started with melodic textures followed by an expressive vocal edit and an emotive chord progression, until rising and falling textures give way to compelling grooves and earworm melodies.

Closing the package is Spanish artist AFFKT, known for releases on Suara, Kling Klong and Noir Music, who reshapes Mason’s original into a shape shifting house gem, sure to lighten up dance floors wherever it’s unleashed.

Mason’s ‘Live On Dreams’ drops December 30th on Kittball Records.

My Favorite Robot Records can do little wrong at the moment: whether it be their foray into album releases with Jori Hulkkonen (to be followed by Fairmont), their string of stellar singles this summer or their much hyped label showcase parties all eyes are certainly on this consistently excellent Canadian based label. Now the MFRR team look to join forces once again with Berlin based Puerto Rican producer Jonny Cruz, the man who provided the superb ‘Street Disco EP’ for the label last year.

Cruz has a history with My Favorite Robot Records that includes not only last year’s stunning EP but also a highly acclaimed collaborative release with Emerson Todd. He has also released music on labels such as Cocoon, Geno and Poker Flat records building an enviable reputation for quality electronic music.

The ‘Devil’s Hex EP’ kicks off with the original version of the title track, a deep and brooding slice of underground electronica with a dark tech edged house feel to it. Heavily effected vocal parts play up against menacing synth lines and haunting FX to create a supremely atmospheric record, quality stuff. The original is backed with a remix from Avatism & Jeremy P Caulfield who take time out from the Dumb Unit family stable to craft an ethereal and emotive remix of ‘Devil’s Hex’ that is a perfect accompaniment to the original.

The second of the original tracks see Cruz team up with Cali Lanuaze for a synth driven retro vocal workout that really hits the mark. Mid tempo bass and drum tracks provide the basis for intricately weaved dark melodies and vocals that have you locked in from the off. The original is followed with a superb remix from Crosstown Rebels artist Fur Coat who picks up the pace and moves things towards the dancefloor with a hypnotic mix with some intense top lines.
