With what was mostly a full and fruitful year for us with many beautiful moments, we now turn our eyes forward to what is looking to be a very exciting year for us at Phonica as we walk into our 20th year of being alive. 2022 saw our mix series get even more killer contributions from artists like Paramida, Sally C, Fred P, Eden Burns, Alex Kassian, Erol Alkan and more. 2023's series line up plans to keep moving up and we have opened this years mix season in the capable hands of two of the finest DJ/Producers doing it right now. Bringing nothing but powerful, euphoric and goddess energies it can only be Octo Octa and Eris Drew of T4T Luv NRG. Amazingly celebrated for their strand of psychedelic, rolling progressive, trancey-house and break rhythms we can't think of two better selector's to take on our series. With an excellently curated compilation and mix for our good friends at Fabric last year as well as two banging cassettes on T4T we can't begin to imagine what this year has in-store for Maya and Eris but we have no doubt it's even more on the upward trajectory! Most likely to the heavens and back! We had a chat with Maya and Eris to see what they have been up to lately and little about how they approached the mix.

Discover the DJ Mix Archive from the Dungen Stage at Way Out West: Jessie Granqvist.

Since her debut as a DJ in 2011, she has been a resident at several underground clubs, which have shaped her as an artist and person. With roots in raves and open-air events, she has gained notoriety for her style of trippy, groovy, and meditative sounds merged into a highly danceable mix. With both technical skill and an eclectic selection of records, she has the talent to build a long-lasting vibe on every dance floor she appears on.

Since her start, Jessie has played in almost every DJ booth in Stockholm (where she is based), as well as in clubs in Berlin, Amsterdam, Tbilisi, and more. In 2018, she performed her first live set at Uppsala Art Museum in collaboration with artist Timothy Wilson.

Jessie is a resident at Stockholm-based Hypnotic Woods, Northern Electronics, Momentum, and Berlin-based Feiramt.

PIPPA:
Blant det uendelige myldret av frekvens-tvistere og wav-spinnere, har Pippa gjort sitt inntog. I et ellers flatt og homogent landskap, har hun tydeliggjort seg som en markant skikkelse å bevitne.

Sounden tar avstand fra ekkokammerets evige kakofoniske gjenklang og retter heller fokuset på 20hz etterdønninger med lang levetid. Pippa spinner ikke for jåleri men heller mot en eklektisk finesse av kriblende tekstur, rullende perkusjon og synth artefakter som skaper rom for finurlige avbrekk.

Lørdag 19.10 slår hun sammen krefter med Schmooze & Brus på The Villa. Der hun og kompanjong TAKT skal kjøre fulltidshypnose i sweatshoppen. I mellomtiden kan du la Pippa dra deg med inn i hennes nådeløse og hypnotiske lydlandskap med hennes nyeste mix.
