‘One Of A Kind’ is the new release from LS2 featuring Romany; a multidimensional piece of house, with two brilliant producers working their magic on the remixes to create this superb EP - a perfect example of why we’re loving vocal house.

Powered with emotion, the original mix centres around Romany’s crowd-stopping chorus, while the Leeds duo ensure this is main-room material with a heavy beat interspersed throughout.

Onto the remixes, and the first from an industry heavyweight who’s had an absolutely massive year, Alex Lister aka A Lister. This exciting mix sees him bring us into more consistent, peak time territory, rearranging the vocals and extending the beat to run throughout.

The second mix is from upcoming talent Rare Candy, who’s gone and completely transformed the track. With the central hook moved forward, the track slowly builds with ascending synths and an ethereal melody, before the explosive drop gives way to a heady mix of mechanical synths and heavy bass. Two exciting takes on this brilliant release.

Don yer fleeces, 90s electronica is back! Well, Björk is at least. And so too is Simon Lovejoy, one of her very earliest producers, alongside old recording partner Frankie Valentine on a reissue comp rounding up some choice cuts from their joint catalogue. "Whisper" hasn't seen the light of day in over twenty years, but truthfully it could have come down the pipeline at any point since. The familiar mix of elliptical drums, house-y piano stabs and all manner of colourful squiggles will always find a happy home. Valentine and Lovejoy, as well as variously appearing on legendary outlets Distance and Balance, also ran a short-lived label called Kooky Grooves – which just about says it all, really.

Justin Drake isn’t a name that necessarily arrives accompanied by the loudest of fanfares, however, he's an individual that commands a healthy slice of respect from the house community's inner circle. Known as a sound engineer, a producer (in his own right as well as half of ‘90s seminal act Peace Division alongside Clive Henry) and a DJ that produces consistently engaging selections, he prefers to go by the quality of his content rather than the hype when it comes to his musical expressions. Drake’s been invited by N.o.N's The Pushamann to join him in providing the sonic backdrop to their 4th birthday celebrations in Room Three this coming Saturday night (21st March) and, as he does best, he's laid down a mix which we think speaks volumes about his talent and the true nature of his sound.
