Detlef and Denney curate the fourth edition of the VIVa Warriors compilation, which is set for release on September 25th through Steve Lawler’s VIVa MUSiC.

Consistently at the forefront of the finest dance floor equipped and club ready productions, Steve Lawler’s VIVa Warriors events have rightfully cemented themselves in the premier tier of dance music’s party echelon. Each consecutive year, the renowned VIVa Warriors mix compilation showcases the finest offering of all things that the Warriors stand for. Now, it’s the turn of Greek born Alex Georgiadis aka Detlef, and British born Denney to masterfully weave an impeccable selection of dance floor certified tracks to the highest caliber.

"It all started with the idea to bring our friends together at a party, and that idea became VIVa Warriors. Now 4 years later, VIVa Warriors has become a universal thing, a part of everyone’s life, not only ours. I couldn't be happier to be a part of that, and provide with this compilation a small piece of the sound that's been played at Warriors. Both Detlef and Denney are intrinsic to the VIVa family, holding residencies at the party’s spiritual home of Sankeys Ibiza, along with numerous releases via the VIVa MUSiC imprint. Detlef, first bursting onto the scene back in 2008 has formed an undisputed repertoire of groove ridden cuts and bass driven melodies, whilst Denney’s illustrious catalogue of releases such as the 2015 hit ‘Low Frequency’ have gained him international recognition as one of electronic music’s most sought after acts.

A lot of work went into the mix and a massive thanks has to be said to all the artists who submitted tracks for it...there are some killers in there from some of my favourite artists!” - Denney

Detlef’s mesmeric fifteen-track selection captures the unparalleled sound and vision of VIVa Warriors, fusing together elegantly composed basslines from the likes of Hauswerks’ ‘I Feel Like Jammin’ with a deeper ambient production style provided by Bunte Bummler’s ‘Demo Cassette’. An offering of exquisite variety, Detlef elevates the true essence of VIVa Warriors selecting Robert James’ ‘House Invader’ along with Latmun’s ‘Who’s That’ where the crisp percussion and distorted vocal samples will echo out through sound systems of clubs and festivals across the globe.

Procuring the second mix on the compilation, Denney’s unquantifiable track choice travels through a host of contrasting house and techno subgenres. Opening the mix with Audiojack’s deep and bass laden ‘Elevate’, Denney continues to demonstrate his undeniable talent as DJ. Whether it be from performing at the white isles most infamous venues, or on his home turf in the UK, Denney’s musical prestige shines brightly through the compilation. A staggering selection of productions from house heavy beats from the likes of Jey Kurmis & Shannon’s ‘Wonadoodle’, to closing the compilation with the fittingly funk infused ‘So High Acid (Acid Dub), perfectly exhibiting why this fourth edition marks yet another milestone in the VIVa Warriors mix compilation series.

Svogue Muziq label is back with its first 2016 release and is a hot one. 
“Supervisors” EP comes courtesy of Barcelona-based italian DJ & producer Matteo Floris who’s also the label A&R and co-owner. 
This 3tracker EP shows off Matteo’s funk and breaks influences coming from his bboying dancer side and his passion for hip hop culture roots. 

‘Aus Check’ opens the release and is a pure groovy house jam 100% dancefloor dedicated. Displays Matteo’s skills at vocal sampling and rhythm building, two involving breakdowns mixed between a chunky drums line and a fat bass. 
‘Supervisors’ is a collaboration with the Chicago native Kid Enigma (Rafael Perez) well known for his top note lyrics and already with releases on Dj Sneak’s I’m A House Gangster and other wicked labels. 
This joint is a drums rocker, sexy and heavy at the same time. Here again some vocal sampling before the main lyric drops with the moog bass and the trip starts, all combined with hot pitched sounds and fxs. 
‘Soul Shaker’ is the simplest track of the EP and maybe the strongest one. Grouping all main elements from the other two tunes (sampling, bass, refined synth sounds) shows more pressure and tension on the breakdowns releasing all the power when the bassline drops together with that raw and solid groove. 

Matteo’s profile is rising of late, with is last works, great feedbacks from top djs and his forthcoming stuff on: Material Series, Elrow Music, Low Steppa’s label Simma Red, Daylight Robbery Records, Sam Divine’s label D-Vine Sounds + others tba soon.

A fresh face to emerge from the UK in recent years, Route 94 (birth name Rowan Jones) found himself being launched into the spotlight from the off when his debut track 'My Love' landed at number one in the UK singles chart back in 2014. For club focused music, this kind of exposure is rarely earned by emerging artists in such a short time frame and while it provided a huge platform to start out on his career,  Jones has opted to work backwards from commercial success down into the underground. His last, and second EP two years back, 'Misunderstood' dropped on Matt Tolfrey's off-centre house outlet Leftroom Records as a follow up to 'My Love' and was statement of intent of the direction he was moving into before he took time out from releasing his music to give him space to explore his growing hardware collection and sonic identity.

With his next Farringdon date slated for this Saturday night 11th June, we have been offered somewhat of a special privilege to break the producer's silence and share a selection of some of the productions that Jones has been working on during his transitional time in the studio these past couple of years, presenting a three track EP for download for free.

Spanish artist Cuartero returns to Hot Creations this June with his infectious grooves to deliver the fiery two-tracker What Luv, marking his fourth release on the revered imprint.

Title track What Luv is built for the peak-time dancefloor. Familiar vocal stabs compliment the intricate percussion and underlying emotive chords that meld into a frenzied breakdown. On the flip, Open Ended swings and bounces with intermittent blips and faint vocal whispers. A trippy, minimal number to roll you into the early hours.

Sanity boss Cuartero began producing at the age of fifteen and shot onto the world stage in 2012, DJing over five continents and releasing on labels such as Desolat, Moon Harbour, Saved, Circus and Hot Creations. In 2015 he was named Best Newcomer DJ at the DJ Awards and in 2017 he won Best Tech House Artist and Artist Of The Year at the Vicious Music Awards.
