Considering the long history we share with Tony Vegas and Prime Cuts an extended show from the duo has been a long time coming and certified to deliver on a very, very special experience. Like we said back in July, when the duo shared with us their ultimate Detroit influenced picks, Scratch Perverts are a name synonymous with fresh cuts and quality music; their slick fix of different genres presented in their own veritable style is the key ingredient in a solid music formula that's already helped present to the world their stringent ability on the decks and their deep dedication to the craft as a whole.

With the aforementioned extended show on the horizon, Tony Vegas and Primecuts have delivered not one but two seemingly different exclusive mixes. The first is a bit more of a personal touch on their sonic heritage with an hour blend of all the music they like...

Scratch Perverts - 'Music We Like' FABRICLIVE Promo Mix

I've been listening to Essential mixes since I first started getting into clubs and electronic music, so it was a shock, and exciting for me, to get the offer to make one myself. The two hour format really allows some time to explore ideas musically as well.

So bringing everything together, I decided to try and make it an exploration of everything that has made me so obsessed with electronic music for the last 20 years, with some of my favourite records from the mid 90's, unreleased material from my favourite artists like Nils Frahm, Lusine, Tim Hecker and Rob Clouth, and a range of genres from ambient to 90 bpm electronica, house and techno, all the way up to 170bpm glitched jungle mayhem - I thought, why not have some fun with it!?

So it's certainly not a normal club mix, it's just what I think is the best music out there, without worrying about what genre or box any particular track fits into or how things should be done "properly". I wanted to leave some sections quite ambient as well, to give breathing space between the peaks, so I'm happy to be able to post this new version up, minus the broadcast talking and idents.

We welcome the legendary Norman Jay MBE for the second hour, who's reputation as a DJ spans decades and was part of the original roster of DJ's alongside Coldcut on the pirate Kiss FM, as well as BBC London. He is also known for his Good Times Sound System at Notting Hill Carnival and this mix celebrates the release of his compilation on Strut commemorating 30 years. Tracks include Ghetto Disco by Ted Taylor,  boogie rarity Dreamin by Zalmac, the Henrik Schwarz remix for The Detroit Experiment and soul legend Curtis Mayfield, before winding down with Brazilian grooves from Attic Tree and skanking reggae from Jacob Miller

Dave Dresden Gives You THE FEELS 7, Felt On August 3rd, 2015

A new guest in the latest episode presents five experimental pieces filled with the atmosphere of avant-garde ambient electronics and enriched with warm breakbeat rhythms.

Fabio La Vecchia, known by his musical avatar Sounding, is an Italian ambient and experimental electronic musician whose passion for creating music was ignited by the haunting soundscapes of David Lynch's films, particularly those scored by Angelo Badalamenti. His musical journey began with playing keyboards in rock bands, drawing inspiration from instrumental groups like Mogwai, Air, and Pink Floyd. The artist holds a particular admiration for Mark Nelson of Pan American, appreciating the diverse influences and unique sounds in Nelson's work.

The release came out on November 14, 2025, and is available on all digital stores and streaming platforms, as well as on our Bandcamp (link in bio)

Considered one of the pioneers of the Nu Skool Breaks sound and an innovative person in trying out new sounds Adam Freeland had many a hit back in the day specially with on his own label Marine Parade with which he promoted other top Breaks acts in the early 2000's. This mix was recorded for Australia's Triple J The Club back in 2007.
