Disco Ruido is back. The mextech landmark project formed by old cowboys Julian Plascencia, Jerónimo and Naro produced this tribute EP for us to warmup the release of their new album. Vox Humana hints classical synth riffs and baselines that remind us of the golden age of proto-techno in the late 80s, with a magnificent cover for Liaisons Dangereuses´Los Niños en el Parque and the new beat inspired Dynamique, this is a great start and reminder of what Electrique Music is about .

For the past few years, Joseph Ashworth has crafted a unique sound in house and techno, blending gritty honesty with an experimental, melodic edge. His acclaimed releases on labels like Life & Death and Get Weird have earned him a dedicated fanbase and support from industry giants like Lee Burridge and DJ Tennis. Known for his versatile and exciting DJ sets, Joseph has played at CRSSD Festival, Printworks, and toured the Far East and North America.

Joseph Ashworth’s “Boa / Searching” EP delivers a diverse range of electronic tracks perfect for various moods and settings. The first track, “Boa,” is pumping and full of percussive beats, making it ideal for igniting the party atmosphere. The second track, “Searching,” is a bit more chill with groovy piano elements, providing a laid-back yet engaging vibe. “Python,” the third track, starts off with an absent, minimalistic sound that gradually gets bassy, creating a unique and evolving listening experience. Following the concept launch earlier this year, ‘Numéro 02’ instantly thrusts us out of orbit for another cosmic crusade from Belfast man-of-the-moment LOR. Triumphant synths on a rocket powered groove, it sets the tone as Israeli newcomer Niv Ast, who makes a swift return after remixing Fort Romeau, takes us even further into the universe with ‘Generally Alone’.

Welcome to 2021: Darkroom Dubs crack open their 18th year with a warm welcome to two new members to the roster… Santiago producer Alejandro Paz and Berlin duo Local Suicide with ‘Directions’, complete with remixes from Undo, DJs Pareja and Velax.
Cold, cutting edge and boasting a full-spectrum of sounds, there’s a slight irony to dropping a release called ‘Directions’ when none of us know where the hell we’re going right now. But we sure as hell know what we’re listening to. And boy do we love it.
As proved on previous collaborations between the two acts on labels such as Nein and Aeon, Alejandro’s weighty production dynamics and Local Suicide’s purring noir soul complement each other to the very last transient. Part new romantic, part tech-no, all dancefloor; each track is a story just as much as it’s a song. ‘Directions’ cap-tures the frustrations and intensity of isolated life in the 21st century and ‘Splish Splash’ takes a provocative, playful stance with its acid house bass plunges and cosmic squiggles.
It’s loaded with a full range of heavyweight remixes from a rollcall of exceptional ta-lent: Undo gets a slinky bass guitar in the mix, DJs Pareja get wonky and bumpy while Velax fuses more grit and intensity in his special Isolated remix.
