WL//WH welcomes the return of the Biel, Switzerland-based Minimal Synth duo of Sadie La Chèvre and Nora Düster AKA Extra Bleu Ciel, to the blog with the premiere of “Spiders”, taken from the forthcoming 12-track album, “Hypersensible,” due on March 14, 2025, via the Meta Moto label run by @egzotikka

Imagine having a nightmare where a spider is trying to kill you, there is nowhere to hide, and no one can hear you scream. Then you awaken and are able to see the dark powers of the real world at play, such as seduction, greed, anger, and fear, and you realize that reality is far worse than the terrifying dream.

The song triggers thumping, stumbling drum kicks and tinny, clinical beats that thread their way into sonorous buzzing low-end undulations, eerie, achingly twisting synth motifs and insistent piano keys, droning and tinkling with plain desolation, to surround softly stunned and in disbelief vocal anxiety, and haunted back-ups, with surreal feelings of menace, helplessness, and doom laden sorrow.

Sadie La Chèvre and Nora Düster are Extra Bleu Ciel, a minimal synth band based in Biel, Swizerland. Extra Bleu Ciel is a bipolar borderline hyperactive teenager who likes to eat marshmallows at the cemetery.

Extra Blue Ciel cries with joy contemplating the flight of hysterical crows at sunset. Extra Blue Ciel loves joyful despair and finds joy hopeless.
Extra Bleu Ciel will always be 15 years old in 1981.

"Hypersensible" is the idiosyncratic trace left by individuals oscillating between nightmare reality and waking dream, sailing between naive euphoria and lucid disillusionment, trying to defy fatality and maintain hope, dancing in the pre-diluvian mud of a dying 21st century.

The idea of the "Decayed Matrix" was an observation of decay within environments in Britain. In some areas, it's a bit like Detroit. The loss of industry leading to decay. Steve is from Croydon, London, where this decay is evident. And so that has a big influence on his mood. 
Surrounded by cold concrete towers, struggles to find work, numerous gangs, local debts and isolationism caused by different cultures being located in a small area and having to live on what little work or poorly paid jobs exist. Or schoolkids being drawn into the taking of crime. 
It can influence an artist to write the same kinds of music, either hard, scary, or melancholic. And sometimes emotive, which can represent people's dreams to live a better life. 
Steve wanted to push the boundaries of sound in Electro in a search for something new, yet trying to keep it grounded in robotic rhythms. He continues that search for sound and influence whilst living in a town on the edge.

Hot on the heels of the huge celebrative 10th anniversary compilation "X", Glaswegian independent label Bricolage label (@bricolage-g5) hits the ground running with an absolute titan of a release from legends of the electronic underground, Multiplex (@user-64321338).

Multiplex is the longstanding project of British electronic brothers Christian & Roland Dormon, renowned mainstays of the so-called 'second wave' of IDM scene since the late 90s, honing their craft over the years through a raft of albums and EPs on some great labels such as Piehead, Lom, Senton, Progerik and the seminal Toytronic.

Based on separate sides of the Atlantic, the brothers produce by sending music back and forward to each other from separate studios.

"Still Unspecified" EP is a new split release by Ukrainian label Connectome Records between South London-born, Boston-based music producer Signal 72 and Athens-based producer Fro.
Both deliver dark electro with a modern twist and robotic rhythms. All tracks written on modular synthesizers, full of deep analog sounds, transport you to a dark and futuristic mood. The artists have created a flawless partnership and exchanged remixes.

Fro is a producer and DJ based in Athens, Greece. His style is a combination of electro with EBM aesthetics, and with a wide range of frequencies between breaks and techno as well
He is the 1/2 Monodroids electro project along RLCT, and a resident member of Society3000 collective and host of Slam! Athens Queer Rave Parties along ClubKid

Eighteen months on from his "Left Hand Drive" debut on Bricolage ( @bricolage-g5 ), UK electronic music producer Wilks ( @nick_wilkinson ) returns with his much-anticipated, sophomore EP, "A Soul To Borrow".

Any fans of the "Left Hand Drive" EP will be elated to know that the emotive edges and cinematic backdrops are still at the forefront of the Wilks sound but there's a clear evolution at the core of his productions. It's a sound that is hard to pin down. Incorporating elements of ambient, electronica, garage and drum n bass into one evocative whole. Clean production techniques, a broader palette and more experience has elevated Wilks into a new realm of sound. Electronic music with finesse and grit.

There's a more lacquered nuance in the shades of the melodies on show and the basslines run that little bit deeper. Helping to add further to the stirring depth of all six tracks. The percussion feels tight but luxurious as it meticulously opens and expands around the soundscapes. There's a degree of melancholy throughout but the reflection of the shuffling rhythms provides us with a constant sense of moving forward and upwards.

Intricate, delicate, serene and atmospheric. You can hear and feel that this is a project that has had everything poured into it. Heart and soul.

The experimental nature of the Spanish producer based in Krakow, Poland, Veelargo ( @veelargo ), is clear to hear throughout as we experience drifting panoramic ambient jostling with contorted motifs and incisive rhythms.
Opening track "Baalm" takes us on a melancholic sonic journey as it gently soars into a crescendo and back again. The pace then picks up as we traverse through realms of acid flecked electro, brisk and bustling beats, laser melodies, alien bass and futuristic sound design. The trip goes full circle, and we end on the probing and exploratory "Kalk". A dreamscape of a track that floats along and burrows into your psyche.
