Music Weeklies this week was about taking a new genre and making it sound old. Well, I used my oud I just got and a bunch of other acoustic instruments and made a joke trance song about Nanni's complaint tablet to Ea-Nasir from 1750 BCE found in Ur.

Music Weekly's challenge this week was Post Apocalyptic, so I had to do one! Luckily, I've been making an album/music pack that's nothing but wasteland music, so it was an excuse to keep working, haha! As a bonus I got to record my oud again. I've only been playing a little over a month so I'm still a little not great, but it's so fun to play I absolutely had to.

70's Documentary

This week's Music Weeklies challenge was "Summer Vibes." Well, when I think of summer, especially as a child, I think of happy days spent doing basically nothing productive, including playing WAY too many video games. Because of the era in which I grew up my main console was the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, but a lot of my friends had the SNES so I got to play a ton of different games (even though I'm a Sega fan at heart). So here's my little tribute to all the awesome soundtracks of my youth.

Pixelated Palm Trees

Suit up, rookies! This week's Music Weeklies was the shoot em up genre. This genre of game has such a wide variety of styles I almost could have done anything. Landed on an Airwolf meets Gradius style with some Genesis/Mega Drive and modern touches.

Astro Squadron Infinite

I love comic books, but I'm not the hugest fan of the superhero genre. So, of course my favorite superhero sucks as a superhero! If anyone has read or seen The Maxx, then you know what I based this track on. I may not have hit the majority of feelings (it's a psychedelic comic about abuse and ptsd), but I tried to get some and still hit the big "superhero" moment. I dunno, what do you think?

This was for the Wastelands challenge for Music Weeklies.

I was able to use my banjo with an e-bow, some resonator pickin', and the new mandolin my friend got me for Christmas. Lucky! The swells are reversed, Paulstretched electric guitar (Big Muff Pi into a Champ). Lots more time spent in pre-production than actually making the piece, haha!

First Music Weeklies challenge of the new year! This one was "Champagne." I had no idea what to do so I channeled a couple specific composers and got this, haha! A toast to Music Weeklies!

Here's the opening menu music for the game jam game I did the music for this past Godot Wild Jam. I love old Zapp and P-Funk, so I got my talkbox out and went to town for an hour or two. When making music like this though, I'm always concerned with "Am I writing a piece that's already been written?" XD

Fish Fighter Ultimate

This Music Weeklies Challenge was "Love", and it was a collaboration challenge. We didn't quite know what to do for a few seconds, but since we're both about that Sonic soundtrack life we quickly dove right into doing a kind of Sonic Adventures thing. Could only work on it for a few hours total, but I think it came out pretty fun!
