Few people bring a truly original sound to house music. At a relatively young age, Hamburgs Martin Stimming did just that, demonstrating a sophisticated yet accessible sound that is beyond his years.

Two years after hooking up with Solomuns Diynamic Music, his 2008 breakthrough hit Una Pena made the electronic world sit up and take notice, and before long acclaimed labels like Freerange, liebe*detail, Buzzin´ Fly, Green and Poker Flat were snapping up his work. 2009 saw him release his immaculate debut album Reflections to great acclaim, cementing his reputation as one of the most exciting new producers of his generation. 

His second album, Liquorice, eschews the normal kick-clap/snare template by and large to explore more interesting and progressive territories, but always with that trademark magpie-like sense of texture, emotion and discovery. 

His productions are filled with a multitude of his own unique, charismatic field recordings, and he never uses the same sample more than once. 

2010 saw him pick up an award for Best Newcomer at the Ibiza DJ Awards, following on from his live show (Stimming does not DJ) stunning the crowds at the islands legendary Pacha, and the finest danceries around the world Πfrom Berlins Panoramabar to Sao Paulo´s D-Edge, Brussels Fuse, London´s fabric and Paris Rex, and plenty more beyond. 

Remixes for the likes of Sascha Funke, Claude VonStroke, Deadmau5, Stephan Bodzin and Tom Novy to name but a few have further spread his influence amongst the discerning house and tech community, and cemented his reputation as one of the scene´s most exceptional producers.

Clearly, Martin Stimming is a precious talent indeed. But then again, not everyone loves liquorice...

Gruppe BASS sind Olaf Brockob-Voigt (Elektronik & Bassgitarre) und Andreas Brüning (Bassgitarre & Elektronik).
Das frei improvisierende Duo aus Hannover erzeugt mithilfe technischer Verfremdungen und ungewöhnlicher Spieltechniken akustische Stimmungen, Atmosphären und Texturen abseits tradierter Songstrukturen und Hörgewohnheiten. 
Geräusche, körperlich wahrnehmbare Frequenzen, Verzerrungen, Resonanzen, Schwebungen und Rückkopplungen sind dabei integrale Bestandteile ihrer kraftvollen Spontankompositionen zwischen freien Strukturen, stoisch repetitiven Drones, wuchtigen Klangflächen und komplexen Soundschichtungen.

Gruppe BASS are Olaf Brockob-Voigt (elektronics & bass guitar) and Andreas Brüning (bass guitar & electronics).

 

The free improvision duo from Hanover create acoustic moods, atmospheres and textures beyond traditional song structures and listening habits with the help of technical alienation and unusual playing techniques.

Noises, physically perceptible frequencies, distortions, resonances, beats and feedback are integral parts of powerful spontaneous compositions that flow between free structures, stoically repetitive drones, massive sound surfaces and complex sound layers. (Translation: Trixie Delight)

Our line-ups are a combination of the power of our global DGTL brand, and all the beauty that local cultures hold. With DGTL Records we build on our festival’s musical theme of an evocative cross section of the sounds and styles; showcasing forward thinking, cutting edge artists. Besides this, the label also functions as a platform for newcomers. This results in the creation of a coherent selection of music with a true family vibe; we want artists to feel connected to the label, the people behind it and to the other artists. 

Our in-house label DGTL Records emerged from the DGTL festival brand and has a single focus on music and community. It combines both upcoming talents together with established artists, bringing unique music and cross-over sounds that both add to the electronic music spectrum.
