On “GIRL YOUR REALLY SPECIAL,” Kelly Hector writes and composes a club track that’s basically a pressure valve: techno-acid muscle on the bottom, emotional melodic-house warmth on the top. 


That hybrid is literally how it’s framed in the track’s own description, and you can hear why — it’s not trying to be “pretty techno” or “soft trance.

It’s both, depending on where you’re standing in the room. 

The vocal line is the emotional steering wheel. It’s not doing acrobatics; it’s doing conviction.

 A simple phrase like “you’re special too” becomes a mantra, and the production smartly treats that vocal like a lead synth: it’s repeated, spotlighted, and used to pull the listener through the arrangement. 


Underneath, the track speaks fluent warehouse: a steady four-on-the-floor, acidic edge, and a sense of forward motion that feels DJ-minded rather than radio-structured. 

It’s got that classic trance trick where the tension doesn’t just “drop” — it opens, like a door into a bigger space.

If you want reference points, think the uplift-and-release instincts of late-’90s trance (Paul van Dyke / Ferry Corsten) meeting the squelch and grit of acid-techno heads (Josh Wink / Hard floor). 

Not a clone of any of them — more like it shares their mission: make bodies move, then give hearts something to do while they’re moving.

Who it’s for:

 Ravers who like their techno tough but their message tender, and headphone listeners who want night time momentum with a genuinely comforting core. 


Genre-tagged as Techno, but emotionally it’s closer to a hug with a kick drum.
