Mick Wills started playing his beloved DJ sets about thirty years ago. In the early 90’s DJ Hell took note of his talent and got him aboard as a resident of the legendary days of International Deejay Gigolo.
As the selector of the whole era of dance music his sets might be better described as master classes.
Wills built up his reputation fast throughout the world and locally at places such as Ultraschall, Trouw, Golden Pudel, and Concrete. Mick Wills is also a dedicated producer.
Mick is a freak and an avid record collector playing like every night is his last. Again and again and again...

It's a chilly, misty Friday in Amsterdam where we welcome Zorz to the GF series. The Athens-born, Berlin-based selector is one of those key figures in the scene with great energy and taste in music.  He is the co-founder of Untag records together with Kondaktor and a resident of a few crews. These include Prima Materia in Madrid, and the lauded Pi Electronics, a collective and record label hailing from Athens. They release music by artists like 3.14, co-founder of the label, JK Flesh, and others. When not performing at the annual Intergalactic FM Festival on the Dutch West Coast, he is doing the rounds at venues like About Blank, Temple in Athens, La Matriz, and many others. The recording is from a DJ set live at the Autonoma Industriale event in Berlin back in June 2023. His selection tells you all you need to know. Lock in!

For this episode of the series we have a special, as the guest slot features a live recording of Marsman's set from the recent FERMA x Pinkman Label Night that took place on May 31st in Six Dogs Athens. First hour by resident Romphea.

At the helm of his beloved label, Marsman preaches the ‘Pinkman sound’ to congregations of devoted followers. Holding court for over ten years now, he released more than 100 records and hosted countless club nights all over the world.

With over 15 years behind the decks, and the breathless release schedule he orchestrates for Pinkman and its subsidiary labels - Mindri, Broken Dreams & Charlois - Marsman has become a central figure in a close-knit scene of rough-around-the-edges DIY dance music.
Marsman’s DJing can ride through uplifting synths and thunderous drum patterns that are equally suited to dark, sweat-drenched basements and cavernous industrial warehouses. But dig beneath the dirt and there’s brightness to be found, with a glossy Italo sheen never far from Marsman’s selections.

Keeping clubrooms locked into groove for hours on end by meticulously building atmospheres of unease, he can pierce the tension whenever he feels the time is right with moments of hands-in-the-air euphoria. Combining euphoric disco and wave with darker, harder sounds is a trademark move from one of Rotterdam’s finest exports.

And he’s done it at all the best spots the Netherlands has to offer, with appearances at Dekmantel, Garage Noord, Pip, Drift Festival and Intergalactic FM. Further afield, he played at renowned international clubs like Panorama Bar, Tresor, Khidi and FOLD.

Beyond all this, he’s a founding member of cherished radio station Operator, and previously ran the sorely missed Pinkman record store in the heart of Rotterdam’s creative Schieblock, giving Marsman a well-deserved cult hero status for independent music in the harbour city and far, far beyond.

Swedish electro producer, Ola Bergman (aka https://soundcloud.com/obergman) first appeared on my musical radar a few years back when I heard his ‘Quantum Eraser EP’ on Brokntoys. It blew me away. I’ve been pretty much buying all his records since and playing his tracks in my mixes. A few that cost a pretty penny on Discogs, I may add!

In more recent years, he has moved towards 4/4, although not exclusively, and has carved out a niche for his unique electro-tinged robo-house. I was hooked with this style that has this amazing hypnotic, deep, wonky feel to it, while still sounding futuristic and in the electro realm.

His impressive discography includes releases on labels such as Infiltrate, Pariter, Brokntoys, Stilleben, Furthur Electronix, Börft, Propaganda, Between Places and most recently Craigie Knowes.
