Next on tentacular, we’re thrilled to host a mix from the multi-faceted Lucie Stepankova, known as Avsluta (@avsluta): a London-based sound artist, DJ, and curator. With a focus on the liminal spaces between ambient and dance music, Avsluta creates evocative experiences that invite deep, active listening and emotional connection.

Lucie is the force behind @introspective_electronics, a platform dedicated to exploring ambient-infused sounds through regular radio shows, podcasts, and curated live events. Her collaborative projects include co-running Sonic Garden—an experimental ambient and downtempo event series in partnership with AMOENUS—and co-curating @terra-obscura-london alongside DJ/producer Alicia, a bi-monthly exploration of ambient-tinged UK bass and progressive club sounds.

Through her live performances, Lucie improvises with a mix of objects, field recordings, electronics, and digital processing, crafting speculative soundscapes that embody the essence of nature and emotion. Her DJ sets are equally diverse, seamlessly flowing between ambient, downtempo, UK bass, and off-kilter deep techno, blending atmospheres that resonate both physically and soulfully.

Tentacular 21 ~ Avsluta

Launching the first episode are two distinguished guests whose styles embody Heka's vision: Sandra Mason and Marco Ragni. Together, they open this new chapter with sounds that drift, pulse, and unfold—inviting listeners into a shared space of curiosity, transformation, and deep listening.

Veneto-born, Rome-based Sandra Mason—aka Enrica Borsatto—is known for her finely tuned ear and adventurous selections. Now co-hosting Horny Music for Ambient People on Radio Raheem and running the hallucinatory YouTube portal Cocktail Naïf, she delves deep into obscure sonic terrain spanning ambient, wave, psychedelia, and the avant-garde. She also makes up one half of Fondazione, her ambient duo with writer Francesco Pacifico. A regular at Fanfulla, Magick Bar, and other key venues, and with her role at Ultrasuoni Records, she remains a vital presence in Rome’s thriving underground scene.

Marco Ragni arrives with decades of deep involvement in Italy’s underground. From Serendipity club to Dancity festival, from the hypnotic blends of Plants Army Revolver to his involvement in projects like Rumore Bianco, his sets dissolve borders between ambient, tribal, and techno, drawing from a rich past that includes founding the legendary Mondo Muzique shop and being one of the minds behind Sintesi festival.

This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

"Like tracing constellations in slow motion - patterns unfold, shift, dissolve. What begins as motion becomes presence, and in the stillness that follows, echoes linger like distant light."

Endurance (@joshua-stefane) is the ambient project of Canadian-born Joshua Stefane. Using modular synthesizers, field recordings, and cassette tapes, Endurance’s sound has become increasing minimal and tonally-focused over the years, employing a minimum of elements to create a maximum of expressiveness. In addition to releasing from labels such as Constellation Tatsu and Mystery Circles, Endurance also curates the Japan-based tape label Muzan Editions (@muzaneditions). As a live performer, he has appeared at numerous high-profile events such as Kyoto’s Star Festival, Extremely Cold Music Festival, Moment, and Rural, with an increasing emphasis on bringing deep ambient soundscapes to techno music parties.

Continuum: a coherent whole characterized as a collection, sequence, or progression of values or elements varying by minute degrees.

There are moments in time that encapsulate and represent everything this project stands for. Connection through music, friendship, trust and creativity. Sharing via sound and etching magical moments and experiences in our minds. And thanks to Perpendicular, we might run out of space to store these experiences sooner than we thought. 

Some times music can't be explained and moments can't be captured. But also, some other times, someone was thoughtful enough to record. And luckily, this time, the latter happened, and we have been blessed with the opportunity to share this one of a kind performance. 

Alex, Javi and Joan are a treasure. Connectors, multipliers, and those special types of characters that make all of us grow a bit more. They nurture people and scene around them. And this time, they chose to tell the story of the story that was going on and at the story place itself.  Of course, with their twist. With an approach to art that does not compromise on craftsmanship to deliver a witty, psychedelic and mind altering performance.

This live is a heartfelt tribute to our favourite room in Perpen — a truly magical space.

It is from this very place that a parallel story arises — one absent from Cervantes’ written pages, yet whispered among the wisest and most hidden tongues. They say that once, during a peculiar detour and a wildly psychedelic journey, Sancho Panza and Don Quixote stumbled upon “La Cabaña”.

There, a druid and a paladin — as if summoned from some arcane legend — welcomed them warmly and invited them to spend the night. What followed, it is said, did not unfold in La Mancha, but in this very sanctuary of surreal encounters and mystical energy.

This tale is not found in the official texts, yet it lives on through oral tradition, echoed like a folk myth among those who know where to listen.

We are also sharing the English (Old-style) translation of the story (spoken word), as it is recited in Castilian Spanish.

Luismi aka guisvi (@guisvi), a music lover for more than 3 decades, has a wide range of atmospheric music. Exquisite selector and great storyteller, he has always been rather elusive in city clubs, often seen at private parties and the most underground events. His sets of ambient and low-tempo electronica are true journeys with subtle and extended blends. Sequences that breathe, atmospheres, and textures to dance with closed eyes.

caroune  (@caroune-dem) is a London-based DJ and the co-founder of Osmura (@osmura) record label, event and mix series. Her versatile sound blends downtempo, dubstep, percussive techno and drum&bass creating immersive, sensorial journeys filled with wonder and uplifting energy. For the past two years, Caroune has played at underground venues in London, Paris and Brussels as well as European Festivals. She will be hosting her next Osmura night at Ormside Projects in London this month where she will be playing alongside international artists. This year, her label launched its first vinyl release with UK-based talent, Sub Basics, and a new VA will be announced soon.

Note: This set has been recorded live in September 2025 at Ouroboros festival in France. I played on Sunday afternoon (my favourite slot!), it was raining so I tried to lift the mood with some dubstep, warm percussion, and deep bass notes. The crowd really connected with the sound and slowly started dancing under the rain...
