As a child, K.atou worshiped at the altar of the family stereo and passionately taped her favorite jams, immersing herself in record collecting at the age of 17 and starting a radio show during her studies in Corfu. After spending time in London and Berlin, she moved back to Athens in 2009 and established residencies at Six d.o.g.s., a series of parties with Roussos under the name “No Expectations”, regular appearances at the queer mobile parties “Qreclaim” and as a resident DJ at PTX Athens with her second moniker “Janet Davis”. Meanwhile, her international DJ schedule blossomed, with performances across Europe, South America, Israel and the U.S. She also currently holds two residencies on Fade Radio and Movement Radio. With her mind focused on carving this dedicated path through DJing, K.atou maintains her position at the forefront of the electronic music scene. The ingredients of her particular sound can be attributed to the classic realms of the 90s house and techno from Detroit, Chicago and Frankfurt, with a penchant of the trippy, dubbed out and sublime.

Decomposition is a mix series by Dead Channel. Fig. 24 comes from CONFLICT BUREAU. Currently in Chicago, they curate both the Desolation Jax and Leatherette nights (originally spawned in Boston in late 2021), and have been held in NYC and New Orleans. CONFLICT BUREAU is an absolute force in the world of mutant sounds. They hit Dead Channel with this ripper of a mix (recorded live in Chicago at Smartbar last month) cutting hard with freaked jakbeat, mangled acid, and chopped up, stomped out rhythms, in this mutated masterwork.

TYPE ZERO is the project that started in 2017 at Chania by Efthymis Andreou. Having already started as a hip hop DJ, his musical influences expanded through the electronic scene of Chania and Crete in general. Initially with Dubstep and later with Jungle, Halftime and Deep Drum and Bass, TYPE ZERO has organized D.I.Y. raves together with other local DJs, while he has also participated in events of local groups such as Deleveled and Urban Danja (River Sessions, Levels, Sougia Bass etc.). In 2022 he returns to Athens and to this day actively participates in the electronic scene of Athens, in events such as ATH DNB UNITY as well as in local clubs and bars. His sets consist of a futuristic, urban and a past, feral tribalism, dwelling between a euphoric yet dark space of constant movement, surrounded by sharp percussive elements and rooted deep into earthy vibrations. TYPE ZERO is also a member of Urban Danja Crew and founding member of the newly formed BDRM BRDM together with Unified Method, an artistic partnership that aims to express itself through multiple mediums, from sound to design.

Since I only had an hour for this one, it made it tricky to build an ambient journey that passes through different emotions, so instead I tried a more cinematic approach — quicker transitions, shifts in mood, and a bit of emotional movement through contrast.
I tried to make it feel like a nostalgic trip, mixing in some timeless tracks from producers I really love, plus a few fresh finds that felt right in the moment.
