Fader - 10 Ampere (Dec '15)

Some people are just not destined to have enough sleep. When you don’t sleep enough the world appears to be a different place, compared to the way it is when the mind is fully rested. In such cases very different scenarios may occur.

Starting with a dreamy melody of Roma Zuckerman’s “Sleep not found”, which inspired the entire Трип 008 album, and ending with a thirteen minute live recording by a_000, the side project of Alex Backdrop, the entire record has a dreamy and tripped out flow.

трип 008 continues the tradition of gatefold double EPs as conceptual album.All tracks are selected around a particular story, a trip, and presented as a continuous sonic landscape.All tracks are structured in a way that they can be mixed one with another an endless amount of times making a continuous loop, a trip, that needs only end when the party stops. Kraviz works without release dates or deadlines, enabling her to achieve a certain sound bank to shape the story, unmasking the thoughts and unravelling like a dream.

End of 2014, after the release of CURLE-P06, some techno blog suggested I would record a Petite themed mix. That roughly means; tracks of a certain age, quite wanted on Discogs, that I like so much that I'd want to reissue them on Petite, our subdivision for licenses. It took me a few months before I actually got to work, and by that time the guy went on to work for one of those big techno sites we all read, and his personal blog came to an end.. 
Now that we just had the Microworld reissue and CURLE-P07 is around the corner, it seemed like a good timing to upload the mix here anyway - although two of the tracks recently got repressed/bootlegged :-) 
There's music from Theo Parrish, 3 Chairs, Pépé Bradock, Second-Hand Satellites, Cobblestone Jazz, Herbert, Roman Flügel, Ricardo Villalobos, Parallel 9, Octave One, Moodymann, Donato Dozzy and Choice. Hope you enjoy!

Branko, a newcomer from Norrköping on the east coast of Sweden, presents „Kao Staklo“. Having previously featured tracks on the critically acclaimed „A beginners guide to Norrköping Techno“ , a release curated by his fellow countryman Nihad Tule and Inter Gritty aka NTTA11; the young Swede takes center stage with his UИCAGΞ debut.

Top and tailing the EP with his two originals Branko opens with „Oprosti“. A melodic number featuring a floating chord over a sharp beat. This is followed by the first of two remixes of „Kao Staklo“. Darren Roberts aka Deepbass rolls out one of his trademark reworks with a deep and trippy seven-minute opus.

The B side opens with Swedish mastermind Skudge who delivered a groovy and psychedelic minimal remix of „Kao Staklo“, before we´re finally introduced to the original title track with its misty atmospheres and melancholic grooves. A rock solid first release.

Already the fifth disc on the new ÆX imprint. A sub label from Amsterdam based label Indigo aera. It is the next chapter in a hand stamped various artist EP series. Formed by a mixture of befriended artists who are considered all inner family members of the label. On the a-side Rotterdams Ben Buitendijk makes his first appearance on the label. Known for running his own Oblique label he here delivers a fast moving rough techno jam. More familiar faces in the form of Kaap, 543FF and Mistress producer Daniel Jacques will continue to bring their output to the young label with their vision on warm Detroit-esque dub techno.

The ever productive Conforce returns to one of his key home labels for another exploration of his prolific deep sea techno sound. His Haedron EP has a firm dance floor focus, designed to propel you ever further forwards.

'Haedron' sets things off with smeared chords adding scale to the knocking beats. Hi-hats glisten like light beams penetrating the deep ocean and it’s a typically warm and comforting track from the Dutchman. 'Scorched Earth' has harder techno kicks forcing you forwards. An ecosystem of claps, hats and twisted pads bring plenty of energy and suspense to the party, then 'Muon Transverse Momentum' manages to mix up hugely expansive chords with pillowy but dynamic drums and oodles of cuddly reverb. Last of all, 'Quantum Phaser' ups the ante with some timeless dub techno vibes that mixes Basic Channel with Planet E to mesmeric effect.

Conforce - Muon Transverse Momentum

The recording artist and producer Ruven is set to release an impressive EP on Dream Diary,  a Brixton-based electronic label. The track “Horyzon” bring us back to the good old days of curated minimal techno blended with such a particular sound that Ruven delivers in every production. However this time, Ruven follows-up with a greater focus on musicality, composition, and theme. This track has a dreamy and unwinding feel to it, yet, it works so well together with  a thick sub bass chugging beneath the trancy pads and jacking crisp percussion that Ruven decides to explore. A necessary gem for those who seek groove and precision in their collection of tracks.
