This third compilation album features new recordings by various artists including Ben Harper, Jackson Browne, Shelby Lynne, Victoria Williams, She & Him, Ron Sexsmith, Rickie Lee Jones and Joseph Arthur in support of the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund which provides financial assistance to all types of career musicians who are struggling while facing illness, disability or age-related problems.

Each of the artists on Sweet Relief lll: Pennies from Heaven chose songs with a theme of support and assistance such as “If I Needed You” (Joseph Arthur), “How Did You Find Me Here?” (k.d.  lang), “King of the Road” (She & Him), “Crazy Love” (Ben Harper), “Change is Gonna Come” (Victoria Williams) and “Big Spender” (Sam Phillips) plus many more.

They came to London for the 2010 edition of RBMA as two of the most distinct voices in electronic beat wizardry. Two years later, their meeting under the Academy roof and their shared passion for intricate organic soundscapes resulted in a full-length joint project called Kidsuke, which was released on Project Mooncircle to much critical acclaim and collegial backslapping. Using a toy-based jam session on kidkanevil’s living room floor as their starting point, the duo’s LP combined a refreshingly creative concept with the synthesized know-how of two highly adept beat eccentrics.

"The story of MODERN WITCH began 6 years ago in Denver, Colorado, when graphic artist Mario Zoots, singer Kristy Fenton and house veteran Kamran Khan started recording experimental music together on an old VHS camera. In the space of a few years, a couple of very limited tape and CD/R releases on labels such as Disaro and Clan Destine Records, and a series of spooky performances both in Europe and on the American continent, the trio has become a true underground reference for creepy, ritualistic dance music, in the muddy but oh so fascinating waters between Witchhouse and Minimal Synth. Treue um Treue is very proud to present a selection of their best tracks for the first time on vinyl, on two twin-LPs of which this is the first. Drunk on 80s cold wave, bathed in suburbian occult decadence and haunted by dead celebrities, “Hollywood” is a feast of thaumaturgic synth lines, nonchalant but captivating mpc 1000 – sequences, drugged-out spoken words and ghostly voices. American Angst or Minimal Doom electronics at their best!"

This 3-piece EP covers a wider range of his musical interest, revs up things right at the beginning, then let it all calm back. The starting d'n'b is just wicked with its fragmented throbbing, that ends up in a fine balance with the rest while cooling down to glitchy electronica. It's just off the hook, really.
