PLEXUS RECORDS & Somepling present "PaperSkies".
This is the first full length effort by French producer Somepling, after a bunch of projects including releases on Stillmuzik, Outlier Recordings, Cold Busted, Sickonasty, and three self-released vinyl records.

Somepling first appeared on The DJ Shadow Remix Project in 2010. His work was then featured twice on the Bandcamp weekly show, he was playlisted by DJ Vadim, TJ Kid & DJ Woody, highlighted on XLR8R, and named soundclouder of the day in 2011.

On "PaperSkies", the mood is mellow, each track carefully crafted, using the finest samples to build progressive instrumental Hip-Hop stories. Somepling's clearly influenced by Express Rising, DJ Shadow's early work, and also Spiritual/modal jazz moods; his dusty instrumentals made on the MPC 2000XL are perfect to escape, and obviously, an invitation to sit back and let the record spins.

This LP comes in a limited silk-screened edition of 275 copies, all hand-numbered and pressed on 180gr vinyl. 12"x 12" silk-screened insert/poster included. Original art is an engraving made by Jérôme Bouchard.

After a decay releasing house music under the alias of Damien Zala, DZAR is dedicated to a more minimalist approach of electronic music. Inspired by graphic design, architecture, and numeric arts.

@Unclear-Records returns with Italian producer @AlessioCollina ‘Night
Walk’, accompanied by a remix from label-heads Easy To Remember.

The ever impressive Unclear Records has welcomed some of underground electronic music’s most revered names onto its roster over the past few years with tracks from artists such as Move
D, Baby Ford, Roman Fluegel, Christopher Rau, Gigi Masin and Fred P, not to mention the brains behind the imprint Easy To Remember who delivered their debut long player via the label last year to critical acclaim. 

This time round though the imprint welcomes some up and coming Italian talent in the shape of Alessio Collina. The original mix of title-track ‘Night Walk’ takes the lead on the package with stuttering acidic bass hits, smooth airy pad lines floating amidst field recordings atmospherics and dusty drums.

Release Date -  20th February 2017.

GTA FUNK' is both a reaction to and a reflection of the 'Toronto' sound, conceived during KEI-LI’s move from the suburbs of Mississauga to the city of Toronto.

The vast multiculturalism of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) has given birth to a sonic diversity that goes far beyond the signature OVO sound associated with the city. With the world finally tuning in, this EP also enlists the help of fellow artists like https://soundcloud.com/robotaki, https://soundcloud.com/falcxne, https://soundcloud.com/clairmontthesecond, https://soundcloud.com/soundslikeandes and NAHTE, which allows him to showcase a funkier side to the city that the world hasn’t been acquainted with yet.

KEI-LI started producing at the age of 13, informed by his interest in beatboxing and funkstyles popping. After stumbling upon neo-soul, he immediately discovered his musical direction, with Musiq and D'Angelo as his inspirations. While these musical foundations shine brightly throughout GTA Funk, KEI-LI has managed to forge a sonic aesthetic that is entirely his own.

There is an evident struggle with finding an authentic place as an Asian artist within the continuum of funk, soul, and hip hop musical traditions. Hence, the visual branding behind GTA Funk is inspired by the intersection of these two cultures: Kung Fu and hip hop.
