Anima is the new EP of Berlin based multi instrumentalist and music producer Tom Willems (TCV).

The five tracks comprising the record showcase digitally heavy, brute soundscapes full of uncompromising rhythm and melody. Drawing inspiration from classic genres like gabber and industrial, TCV articulates a sound that is highly abrasive but often surprises with poetic verity.

As the track names indicate, the record conceptually is concerned with the human body and its perception as something which can be both fragile and powerful. TCV unveils, that a traumatising phase of his life, inspired him to process his impressions of lifelessness being inhabited by machine-power. Witnessing how new wealth and vitality is being pumped into a corpus made him fascinate about this passive recreation. The idea of a life depending on mechanical forces, repeating and recovering, is echoing through his acoustic concept. Each track thereby communicates a different stage of a physical transitioning, thus a metamorphosis in whole.

FÆRIES welcomes @syyler for his first album, I’m ok. After releasing multiple EPs and performing under the moniker Lësterr, the french musician and DJ enters a new era with this project, produced by the artist himself as well as Migu (Igor Dubreucq), Tristan Brundler, and Baby Rocket (Leo Elser). Taking his first steps in the realm of electronic music on the family computer as a kid, Syyler quickly developed a unique sonic tapestry, crafting a hybrid of pop melodies and heavy kicks. With I’m ok, the self-defined « sad pop » artist constructs a somber soundscape inhabited by melancholic voices and ethereal productions. From emotional ballads to dark dance anthems, this album reveals the depth of Syyler’s creativity, with features from Olivia Merilahti on Wound and Migu on Night. Wielding his words like a Neo-romantic poet, syyler builds his own angsty, enchanting universe, and takes us along with him.

Blown by the Wind is a project that highlights the voices of the Global URL Nation community, and the textures that can be created from them. The voices mingle and intertwine until a soundscape shimmering compilation is woven.

It was a project in two phases. The first one consisted in the creation of a common pack of vocal samples - anyone from the GUN community could contribute with what they already had, or could create something specifically for the project.

´¯`·- It welcomed 116111 , Amselysen, Bademjan, Epiphagi, Eurrope, Griigg, Jeune Faune, jjjacob, MYEN, Pénélope, RougeHotel, & SNKLS for around 50 voice samples.

In the second phase, artists from GUN could propose a track using this sample pack. The idea was to consider voices as key instruments, with the possibility of shaping, distorting and transforming them at will to create new textures.

So these last remnants stand testimony of the ever flowing state of things and its never ending evolution. It's a set of heavy bass, chopped samples and cheesy melodies infused with a touch of irony that set the surroundings for a sweet ending, seeding a new beginning, as the ears become the beak. 

Edition of 200 copies on transparent red vinyl, with a silk-screen print on the PVC sleeve.
