This playlist began life as a friendly 'dare' . See the track notes to the first version. No not Celine's one, the other first one. 

I must point out that the original 'dare' was issued by Faerytale to me. The idea to carry it forward with further 'dares' came from All Smiles. I just got caught in the middle.

Er.......... I've had this track for a little while now but it was never my intention to post it. Well, come on, me? giving it what for on a Celine Dion track ? I've got a crew of desperate pirates only seconds from mutiny at the best of times.

I posted a cover of a YES song. 'Turn of the Century' ( in it's self a challenge , but that's another story )a while back coz it woz Xmas and I was not fit to drive an automobile on the public roads.  I renamed the track 'Yes, we have no bananas' if you feel the need to play detective. I had recorded the track as a singing exercise and had to duck a couple of the squeaky bits coz I don't have the vocal range of Mr Jon Anderson.  That is when 'Faerytale' challenged me tackle the  Titanic song.   

So I found the sheet music. Learned the basic chords and ….........sent the result across the sea in a sort of  'There yer go then... ' never dare a fool........... 

I was unprepared for the response.

For Celine Never Dare Faerytale/Titanic Cover

I wanted to join in the Irate Pirate's (@gibson-j-4-5) dare to cover Celine's titanic hit (My Heart Will Go On)

I rather cheated and asked @Faerytale to do the vocal (again!) poor thing. Lisa has already done several wonderful collabs within this project and her own very beautiful version too. However, I wanted to do a different version of the swoon song topically in the flavour of Bowie's 'Heroes', as I thought that the Heroes riff (ish) would go straight through those few basic chord changes in the old titanic song... and it does if you push hard enough! The "We could be heroes" phrase was also slotted in as a background vocal to add a further clue for the slow on the uptake or otherwise easily distracted (SQUIRREL!)  ;-))

Lisa dropped me the jaw-dropping vocals and I did the rest.

The Outro: I sort of imagined a lifeboat slipping away into the darkness. Not sure if anyone in it survives; we can't all be heroes...  "I'm floating in a most a peculiar way and the stars look very different today..."

I'm happy to post here this cover of "Jump they say",  brilliantly orchestrated and brought to life by "Phil & friends" :-) It's from David Bowie's 1993 "Black tie, white noise" album. To be honest I'd never heard this song before, but I took to it immediately and thoroughly enjoyed doing my bit :-)
