Formed out of the ashes of Toxic Federation, Fahran have had their current line-up since March 2012 after setting out under the new name.

They released their self-produced, self-titled debut album after just 6 months together, to great reviews. Whilst still retaining melodic sensibilities, the band decided that a new name warranted a change of direction, hence a much darker, heavier and far more mature sound.

In the 12 months that the band has been together, Fahran have enjoyed success as the openers on the debut I AM I tour in October 2012 (ZP ex-Dragonforce’s new melodic rock venture), plus supported UK rock troubadours, Heaven’s Basement in Feb 2013. In addition to this, the band appeared at BT London Live in London’s Hyde Park as part of the London 2012 celebrations and have made appearances at prestigious festivals such as Bloodstock and Download Festival.

After suffering a set-back in the form of Bass player Alex Stroud and Singer Nick Whitcroft having to step down from the band, Fahran have only become stronger. Having drafted Josh Ballantyne (ex bass player for This Is Two) and Matt Black (ex singer for Serpentine) things are running full steam ahead.

The band are currently writing songs for their 2nd album and will no doubt be playing as many shows as they can, honing their sound and performance further and beyond their years.

This is a band that has worked for all they have achieved, leaving them with a seasoned gravitas. Fahran continue to forge a sound far greater than the sum of their parts that is redolent of no one and is entirely their own.

Nick Whitcroft is an experienced and accomplished vocalist, having progressed from a childhood of choir singing to life as a confident and atmospheric performer. He currently writes, records and performs material for numerous projects and is available as both a session artist and private vocal coach.

In his time fronting Rugby-based alternative rock band, Void Illusion, Nick toured the UK and the Netherlands, playing such venues as the O2 Academy Birmingham and the Leamington Assembly. He went on to front the rock band Fahran (distributed by Cargo Records). During his time with Fahran, Nick played and/or worked with a range of artists, including Heaven's Basement, I Am I and Sondura, as well as performing at festivals such as Download, Bloodstock and BT London Live for the 2012 Olympic Games.

With over a decade of training under his belt, Nick is experienced across all manner of genres, including rock, metal, prog, pop, funk, soul and blues, and relishes working with all manner of individuals and organisations for both stage and studio work. He cites contemporary artists such as Myles Kennedy, Rob Thomas and Chris Cornell as a driving force in reaffirming for him the capacities of a modern-day performer to draw upon the assets of classics such Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and John Lennon.

Nick stands out as a singer with not only the drive and passion to create rich, emotionally-driven material, but also the commercial outlook to help see his music through to a new age of the industry, as he brings his versatile sound to the UK market.

Music is a craft that takes blood, sweat, tears and a hell of a lot of caffeine but creating something that everyone in the room can identify with on an entirely different level is incomparable.”
