Hand me down my walking cane, and y'all had better prepare  yourself,  because you never heard a sound like the Rubberbandbass.  When I saw this short fat guy Stretch a band between his toes, hey, I laughed so hard, cause the man got down!

This is a  multi-sampled  rubber  band, a nice fat purple one if you care, for that rubbery bass-sound.  As ever, extensive controls are provided on the Kontakt interface.  There is a choice of three different impulse-responses, including two acoustic-sounded woody soundboards and a Tweed amp along with a "Tone"  control to adjust the midrange.  A built in LFO,  controlled by the modwheel can go from adding a bit of grrrmph buzz to a rubbery wobble. Two-octave pitchbend - hey, this thing is stretchy - and a choice monophonic modes with legato or full-time glide or polyphonic, and finally is a built-in delay.

This single is a blend of two different mixes. The blend was crafted at Dib Dib Dub studios and uses the work of Felix from Tigersonic studio as well as using a mix from the band's own studio, Bentstring. It is taken from Gertrude's  forthcoming album which will be released in October 2013. 'Perfect O' is edgy feminist pop with a groove! It takes you on a white rabbit trip into the murky world of gender stereotyping and sexualised conformity. Laden with off kilter guitar hooks and driving cello, the track also gives a nod to a seventies kid's show and the video features oddball characters plus a dance routine -that you can learn!

Looney Buns: Captain Paperheart

London based eclectic musician  - former member of the all female post punk band Gertrude and current member of Focus E15 housing campaign.

I make abstract and experimental music as SzcZ, this string of letters actually appears in my real mane. Also I write and sing songs in outsider band Looney Buns, which is focused on mixing pop with rock, folk, electronic, surreal, hyper-real and off-the-wall songwriting.
