Brett Costello has been a tastemaker in the Perth R&B/Hip Hop scene for almost 20 years.***

Brett's enthusiasm for the freshest new black music has taken him on a journey including stops at community Radio stations 6NR and KCR fm, commercial Radio with the groundbreaking R&B Bounce on 96fm in 2002, then for six years alongside Nick Alexander on Nova 937, initially for Urban Essentials on Friday and Sunday nights from June 2003- July 2007 and more recently on R&B Shortkutz on Sunday nights from Jan 2008 - September 2009.***

In the clubs Brett has represented at most of Perths influential Urban club nights. Residencies and guest sets along the way have included Polygons, Mangoes, Orsinis, Buzz Bar, Bar Rumba, Margeaux, Bon Bonet, Pallas Studio Lounge, Klub Yum Yum, The Big Apple, Varga Lounge, Caramel Sundae @ Ambar, The Lick Party Series, $elebrity @ Metro City, Eurobar, Bar 138 and more. Brett also ran and promoted the underage Ghetto Jam series that provided all ages Hip Hop nights to Perth for 8 years from 1995-2003, often attracting over 1000 people.***

Invited to be an Aria club chart reporting DJ some years back, Brett has also voted in the urban category for the Aria Awards.***

Currently Brett is co-resident at R&B Lounge @ Solace Bar - Metro City every Saturday night. He also presented "The Soul Night Out", a quality event promoting R&B and Soul every long weekend.

Bretts club sets combine R&B, Soul and funky Hip Hop, Soul, smooth mixing and fresh scratching. Most of all you know its going to be upfront. As an importer of overseas vinyl for the last 15 years, a member of Europes premier DJ Pool and regular trips to the US and UK to stock up on the freshest sounds you know its going to be fresh.

With a love affair for artists that hope to meet an audience somewhere beyond slick production and hooks alone, R&B duo Fake Fake is reaching out.
 
An array of influences between them, Victoria (Canada) based artists Charlotte Hynds and Justin Campbell made their genre-bending debut in May 2019 with single "Goodnightmare": quickly landing the duo an international audience in the tens of thousands, and a step closer to finding their "somewhere".
