“Spin Dynamics” is an acousmatic composition exploring the use of sonified hydrogen and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance data in an electroacoustic music context.
Nuclear magnetic resonance experiments excite molecules to produce electromagnetic radiation in the audible frequency range with unique frequency patterns and timbres for every molecule.
Given that there are far more than 50 million structurally different organic compounds, the potential sounds created are hugely varied and divers. Their use in music composition however is almost unexplored.
In this piece, around 100 organic compounds have been selected and sonified via their sonified via their Hydrogen and Carbon nuclear magnetic resonance data. The sound selection and arrangement is purely following aesthetic concerns, with each section of the music composition highlighting different aspects of the raw molecular sound material.
Aesthetically, this piece explores the dichotomy of the word 'element' and its different meaning within a philosophical and scientific context. 
While, according to Aristotle only the four classic elements fire, earth, water and air are needed to create living matter on earth, an organic chemist would argue that the four main elements essential for life are hydrogen, carbon, oxygen and nitrogen. 
This piece builds a metaphorical bridge between these two worlds by presenting gestures inspired by the elements water and air, made through the sounds of the chemical elements hydrogen and carbon.

烏蛟騰抗日英烈紀念碑 (Memorial Monument for Wu Kau Tang Anti-Japanese Aggression Martyrs)

The Wu Kau Tang Martyrs Memorial Garden at Bride's Pool Road, North District, Hong Kong.

抗日英烈紀念碑位處香港大埔烏蛟騰，於2010年9月24日 ( 農曆8月16日 ) 舉行重建落成開幕儀式。
1941年香港淪陷進入三年零八個月的日佔時期，當時廣東人民抗日游擊隊東江縱隊曾派出精英成立東江縱隊港九大隊，烏蛟騰就是此隊的重要基地。

1942年農曆8月16日，日軍包圍烏蛟騰村，強逼村民繳械，並且供出遊擊隊隊員的身分，村長李國藩與多名村民堅拒妥協，終被日軍折磨至死。至香港重光後，村民在烏蛟騰一處山坡豎立紀念碑，緬懷犧牲烈士。後來村民認為該地方太偏僻，遂建議遷至現址。

2015年8月，中國國務院公布《關於公布第二批國家級抗戰紀念設施、遺址名錄的通知》(《通知》)，當中包括大埔烏蛟騰村烏蛟騰抗日英烈紀念碑。

History changed on 4 October 1957, when the Soviet Union successfully launched Sputnik I. The world's first artificial satellite was about the size of a beach ball (58 cm across), weighed only 83.6 kg and took about 98 minutes to orbit the Earth on its elliptical path. That launch ushered in new political, military, technological and scientific developments. While the Sputnik launch was a single event, it marked the start of the space age and the US-USSR space race.

Binaural stealth recording of a street protest in Brașov's central square. 
Ever since I landed at Bucureşti's airport I felt this obvious roughness in Romania. History of the last decades seems to justify - at least in part - this coarse sensation and landscape. However, during this protest, it felt like some hope was present and, possibly, a hint of happiness. After the recording, we spoke with a young couple who told us they have been protesting everyday, in several cities against immense political corruption. 
To my left, young children were playing in the snow, and mostly to the front of me some dozens of people protested peacefully and soon took off to march the streets.
