Two Neighbors is an LA-based duo consisting of singer/songwriter Sophia Pfister and producer/guitarist/percussionist Andre Mohring. The two met as literal neighbors in Highland Park and have coined the term “hard-pop” to define their unique juxtaposition of trap, rock and bubblegum pop. Their yin and yang dynamic creates a space for those longing to dance, mosh, and party without sacrificing authenticity and genuine storytelling. The group made their debut in late 2019 and recently released their self-titled debut EP on CloudKid Records.
If you’ve ever been in love with an addict. You know it’s a constant rollercoaster that usually ends with one person or both people needing to break the cycle. I was addicted to a person addicted to drugs. I fell head over heels in my early 20’s and he was twice my age. I’ve written plenty of songs about being on that roller coaster with him but this is the first song I’ve written about getting off of it alone. 2020 has been a year where I personally have stopped drinking, went vegan, legally changed my name, got rid of almost everything I owned, cut off my hair and cut off fake friends. This song is about kicking toxic shit out of your life even when you feel powerless; when the thought of staying the same is scarier than the thought of changing. When Andre and I were writing this song, the memories and words were flowing out so fast, I had to step out of the room and break down in the bathroom. I was so happy how Andre produced it so that the music was empowering and bold with no trace of victimhood. 

We both say with confidence that this is our favorite song we’ve ever made. We’re so proud of this one.
