FEEDBACK FAMILY: REPOSTS no longer work and LIKES make no difference whatsoever; ONLY positive FEEDBACK makes a difference, a BIG difference. Feedback makes your account more VISIBLE so it brings MORE TRAFFIC, MORE LISTENERS—it also serves as GENUINE HYPE, visitors see the amount of feedback you receive and that arouses their curiosity to listen, and when they listen, seeing all that genuine hype influences the way they listen—they hear your music through POSITIVE EARS. 

The ABSENCE of feedback has the reverse psychological effect, it KILLS CURIOSITY, and those who do listen, listen with NEGATIVE EARS. Potential listeners rarely find your page in the first place because the LACK OF FEEDBACK means your music posts don’t appear in THE FEED, quickly disappearing from view. The music of those who DO enjoy feedback REMAINS in the feed, visible to viewers, and the visibility of their latest post is far greater than those who don’t receive feedback. 

The result, some of best music on Soundcloud goes UNNOTICED, which is why I propose the idea of a FEEDBACK FAMILY as a way of raising the profile of all those who joined this initiative. Twitter is a good place to coordinate such a project and I have an account set up on there specifically for that purpose.

MUSICIANS THAT HAVE A DIFFERENT ATTITUDE TO THE REST, TEND TO MAKE MUSIC THAT IS DIFFERENT TO THE REST!
It is common practice for musicians to click the like button on #Soundcloud without ever listening to the tune! There is no proof it was listened to, so it's impossible to know who genuinely likes a track! Only actual #feedback proves it's been heard!

I use to follow musicians back that clicked the like button, but it becomes very obvious that only 10% actually listen, when you receive five times as many likes as listens. This has made me extremely wary about being the first to leave feedback, and that kind of wariness spreads like wildfire!

Because of this, I only follow musicians back that leave feedback, or share one of my posts; and I will only leave feedback once if the favor isn't returned. it is better to keep searching for musicians who have enough #class and #humility to return the #respect!

#Musicians that have those qualities clearly have depth, creating tunes for the love of it, rather than simple to fuel their own ego, and fatten their bank accounts!

DON'T JUST LIKE, LISTEN; DON'T JUST LISTEN, COMMENT; DON'T JUST COMMENT, SHARE!
Anyone can click a like button; it doesn't prove you actually listened! Anyone that doesn't show proof they are actually listening will be removed from playlists! If the only support you give is to cynically click like buttons, you are contributing to the eventual demise of #Soundcloud and other music sites; without these sites to post your music on you are basically screwed; there won't be much point to making tunes if you don't have any kind of audience!

If you don't give REAL support, the support you get will eventually come to an end; we all eventually get tired of giving and getting nothing back. In the end, not only does it ruin the chances of everyone else, it will destroy your own. It is also a big mistake to underestimate the talent of others and overestimate your own! Don't assume their music can't be as good as yours; burying your head in the sand might protect your ego, but it doesn't do much for your reputation!

If you can't show respect, you don't deserve respect, so don't just click the like button, listen, and leave feedback to prove you listened. If you don't get into the habit of doing this, #Soundcloud won't be around much longer!

Seems #Soundcloud are now under new management, and will be staying in business, but for how long is dependent on how much activity we, the musicians, create and sustain!

A lack of listens proves nothing, other than the fact that no one is finding your tunes; it does not prove, as some believe, that your tunes must be crap, so don’t ever take such a ridiculous notion on board—on an internet FLOODED with music no listens rarely has anything to do with the quality of your music, your creative talent, is almost always down to the fact that the right audience can’t find your music, because finding it is now as difficult as finding a needle in a haystack!

For diversity and consistency, I am not hesitant in saying my Soundcloud pages house the most inventive creations on here. There are others making fabulous tunes, but no one is more prolific while maintaining a high standard of pole to pole invention, and that applies to the lyrics too. I won't escape obscurity and oblivion, but that proves nothing, the internet is way, way, WAY overcrowded with unsigned music, way too much mediocre stuff, which obscure anything exceptional out there; the wood hidden away behind lots and lots and LOTS of trees, and no one has the time to look for needles in haystacks, to find a diamond in the rough, it's just way too big a task, not humanely possible!

INVENTIVE, AUTHENTIC, DIVERSE MUSIC, INVENTIVE, AUTHENTIC, IMAGINATIVE LYRICS, but those are the last things the vast majority of listeners are looking for these days!

Me, I'm awestruck by musicians who can't be pigeonholed, who don't conform to any borders, who don't think about which direction each new creation will take, they just go wherever that creativity takes them; pure, on the fly, innovation, imperfect but 100% authentic, as far a way from manufactured, recipe book, regurgitation, as it is possible to get, totally unforced, inspirational and way, way, WAY outside the box! There ought to be a place for such creativity, there was at one time, but a mercenary music industry put an end to that, leaving us with a situation where those who deserve the most adoration for the talents receive the least!

I mean really, what is the point of following someone, what is the point of liking one of their tunes, if you don't actual think they are deserving of feedback, if you don't think the tunes are as good as what you do???

Listening to just one of my tunes tells you nothing about my creative approach, listening to ten of my tunes will still tell you very little, listen to a hundred of my tunes and the penny will start to drop, but it's only after hearing 500+ of my creations and collaborations that your eyes will widen in amazement! 
However, if you don't have unlimited eclectic taste none of that applies, and the reality is, who, in this world, is going to listen to every tune I've created, no one--if even one tune is heard from beginning to end it's a minor miracle, because sadly, there is a belief that unsigned means inferior, but I've heard enough tunes by the rest of you guys to know that's a myth, that's bullshit, we create some of the most inventive, authentic, imaginative tunes out there!
Give me unsigned, independent and underground music over signed, safe, predictable, recipe book, music any day of the week!

Now I don't personally believe I'm in the same league as #Bowie, other than my lyrics, more often than not, making more sense, but I do think I share his ability to adapt to different genres, and his endless, diverse, creativity, just not quite on the same level.
