Ja @moynfestival – was soll ich sagen? Ich könnte den Rahmen mit Lobeshymnen und Liebesbekundungen sprengen, aber ich sag’s mal so: Ich bin zum ersten Mal alleine auf ein mehrtägiges Festival gereist, auf dem ich zwar einige Leute kannte, aber nicht mit meinen üblichen Lieblingsmenschen zusammen war. Ich hatte aber vorab schon null Bedenken, mich bei euch wohl zu fühlen. 🥰

Du, dein Team und deine Crowd haben mich mit offenen Armen empfangen und ich habe mich in jedem Moment unheimlich gut aufgehoben und sofort angekommen gefühlt. Kurz gesagt: Moyn, du bist ein ganz besonderes Festival und machst alles richtig! Oder um es mit meinem Intro zu sagen: Fünf Sterne Deluxe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Puh, schon 6 Wochen ist das @kabinettderkuriositaeten Open-Air in der Kommune2010 her? 😳 Krass – das sind ja einmal Sommerferien! Voll verschwitzt! 🥵

Nach 8 Jahren als Stammgast vor und hinter den Decks (if you know, you know 😏) durfte ich dort zum ersten Mal als Falscher Hase spielen und was soll ich sagen: Es war natürlich wie immer voll schön! 😍

Dabei habe ich mal wieder gemerkt, wie einzigartig und anders das Kabinett hier in der Rhein-Main-Region ist und wie gut und sicher ich mich dort fühle. Danke, dass es euch immer noch gibt! Herzlichen Dank auch an alle, die dazu beigetragen haben und besonders an @wo-woanders für die Einladung, an @klabauterfrau und @justemmaoffical für den nicen Sound vor und nach mir und an alle, die zu meinem Set gefeiert haben. After building up a steady stream of releases on a succession of underground big room techno labels over the last few years, Ukranian talent Spartaque made his debut on Craft Music back in 2011 with his acclaimed Ricochet EP. 

He finally returns to Tomcraft&#8217;s imprint at with the cool, demure sounds of Eleven. Resolutely electronic, it&#8217;s a hypnotic, deep slab of rolling techno which carefully balances big room flourishes with spooky, bleeping arpeggios and haunting, sci-fi-esque FX. With undertones of throbbing progressive house from a bygone era, its full sound, driving bass and haunting melodics combine to create a track full of character and emotion, yet incredibly succinct in its approach.

Things get much more frantic on the b-side, Cassette, which sees Spartaque team up with Alan Wools for a seriously feisty romp. Rasping, distorted, evilous synth blasts gradually punctuate a rampantly galloping groove while a devilous bassline swirls beneath. Chunky drum fills, cymbal rides and phat filters add more weight while a Doom&#8217;s Night-esque dog bark of a synth sinks its teeth into the meaty rhythms, building to a frenzied crescendo in the break. In short, a perfectly balanced, nutritious EP whose two flavours will attract a wide selection of tastes.

As you might remember, the last keinemusik release has already seen some significant vocal support from friendly countries. Itʼs been a modus operandi, Adam Port is extending quite a bit on his kM018 edition. The friendly country being Leipzig for that matter and input coming courtesy of Here Is Why, the synthy Wave-Pop-moniker of Good Guy Mikesh. It is in fact an almost inevitable cooperation. There have been quite a few partynights, where crossfaders were shared and the Here Is Why sound has been celebrated within the keinemusik camp since day one.

On A1 youʼll find the clubversion of Here Is Whyʼs new single “Our Fate” in an unmistakable Port-ish condition. The beat stoically marching, escalating into a loop-excess, taking in some of the dirt that made Ports last tune “Black Noise” such an irresistible weapon. The lusciously chopped bassline is aiming in but one direction (the floor), the vocalpart evolves from craving in the background to full bloom within the break, until some field recordings and percussive ornaments throw your feet back into this fateful goose-step. A banger, again. 

The flipside consists of the original and the bonustrack “Tonight”. It is Here Is Whyʼs first single-release since their highly recommended full length debut “HRSY”. At the same time, itʼs their first works coming to life in full on band-mode. “Our Fate” is classic Here Is Why-material factoring in catching and heartwarming vocalhooks, gently orchestrated synth-tension and all those knowing 80ies hints. “Tonight” comes along in a way more spaced out mood, riding a wave, that might surge somewhere within the Atlantic and then pour out whether into the black nothing of the Galaxy or a subtly scored dancefloor.
