Ja @moynfestival – was soll ich sagen? Ich könnte den Rahmen mit Lobeshymnen und Liebesbekundungen sprengen, aber ich sag’s mal so: Ich bin zum ersten Mal alleine auf ein mehrtägiges Festival gereist, auf dem ich zwar einige Leute kannte, aber nicht mit meinen üblichen Lieblingsmenschen zusammen war. Ich hatte aber vorab schon null Bedenken, mich bei euch wohl zu fühlen. 🥰

Du, dein Team und deine Crowd haben mich mit offenen Armen empfangen und ich habe mich in jedem Moment unheimlich gut aufgehoben und sofort angekommen gefühlt. Kurz gesagt: Moyn, du bist ein ganz besonderes Festival und machst alles richtig! Oder um es mit meinem Intro zu sagen: Fünf Sterne Deluxe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Puh, schon 6 Wochen ist das @kabinettderkuriositaeten Open-Air in der Kommune2010 her? 😳 Krass – das sind ja einmal Sommerferien! Voll verschwitzt! 🥵

Nach 8 Jahren als Stammgast vor und hinter den Decks (if you know, you know 😏) durfte ich dort zum ersten Mal als Falscher Hase spielen und was soll ich sagen: Es war natürlich wie immer voll schön! 😍

Dabei habe ich mal wieder gemerkt, wie einzigartig und anders das Kabinett hier in der Rhein-Main-Region ist und wie gut und sicher ich mich dort fühle. Danke, dass es euch immer noch gibt! Herzlichen Dank auch an alle, die dazu beigetragen haben und besonders an @wo-woanders für die Einladung, an @klabauterfrau und @justemmaoffical für den nicen Sound vor und nach mir und an alle, die zu meinem Set gefeiert haben. RELEASE INFOS:

While Robosonic's extraordinary OFF debut „Worst Love“ was paying homage to a specific underground rap record by the Dilated Peoples (actually without sampling the record itself), the follow-up now takes it way over the edge: consciously, of sound mind. Since their early vinyl bootlegs (2005) under various aliases and their critically acclaimed first album as Robosonic (2007), Cord and Sacha incorporate a certain sense of irony into their undisputed world class production work. For their next episode on OFF, the boys cut slices of hiphop sample history and flipped them into seriously soulful house music joints. Functional arrangements with plenty of musical references to golden eras and past times create the emotional depth of Robosonic’s modern „hi-tech soul“. 
„OVER“ with its intimate feel seems less obvious than the famous hookline of „THE EDGE“. In fact Dr. Dre was not the first beatmaker to cook it up, so Robosonic probably aren‘t the last either. They just do what they like doing best. Funnily enough our praised creators anticipate critics and let Talib do the talking: „These cats ain‘t real.“

Was macht man, wenn für einen Musik eines der wichtigsten Themen überhaupt ist? Wenn sie einen sehr großen Raum im Leben einnimmt und einen fast jede Minute des Tages begleitet? Man aber weder in der Lage ist ein Instrument zu spielen, noch sich auf das Mixen oder Produzieren versteht?

Ganz einfach: Man tritt mit Leuten in Kontakt, deren Herz ebenso wie das eigene für die Musik schlägt, man tauscht sich darüber aus, man redet und man schreibt darüber, man lässt andere teilhaben an den eigenen Gedanken und Ideen.

Eine davon war, all den Menschen, die uns und unser Projekt begleiten, uns unterstützen – sei es mit Likes oder Kommentaren, Tipps oder Kritik, zur Verfügung gestellten Sets und Tracks oder gar Ausgaben für unseren Podcast – zu Weihnachten ein besonderes Geschenk zu machen: Eine Auswahl unserer absoluten Lieblingstracks.
Welch besseren Rahmen konnte es dafür geben, als den klassischen Adventskalender? Was aber bedeutete, dass wir uns auf eine bestimmte Anzahl begrenzen mussten, was sich als weit schwieriger herausstellte, als wir anfangs dachten.
Wir haben zusammen Lieder angehört, diskutiert und gelacht, gestritten und waren einer Meinung, waren oft erneut berührt und mussten einige Tracks immer und immer wieder hören, um dazu angemessen „abzugehen“...

Heraus kam eine Auswahl unserer absoluten All-Time-Favorites, ein Derivat unseres persönlichen Geschmacks. Tracks mit denen wir persönliche Momente in unserem Leben verbinden, die uns immer wieder zum Feiern oder Nachdenken bringen, die immer wieder Gänsehaut machen oder die Feierwut in uns wecken.

Eher zufällig kam uns eine weitere Idee: Wäre es nicht möglich, all diese Tracks, so verschieden sie auch sind, in einem Set zusammenzubringen? Als Weihnachtsgeschenk nach dem Adventskalender? Aber wie? Denn wie oben erwähnt, würden wir vermutlich nicht einmal zwei Tracks ineinander faden können.

Wir fragten also unseren Freund www.soundcloud.com/959er, der uns von Anfang an bei unserem Projekt unterstützte und uns bereits zur Beginn der Vorweihnachtszeit mit einer ganz besonderen Ausgabe unseres Podcastes beehrte.

Das Ergebnis könnt ihr euch jetzt hier anhören. Uns macht es immer wieder fassungs-und sprachlos – auf die beste Art und Weise, die man sich vorstellen kann. 
So unterschiedliche Atmosphären und Stimmungen die Lieder auch transportieren, hier sind sie zu einer inhaltlichen Einheit verschmolzen, die einen von der ersten Minute in ihren Bann zieht und bis zum Schluss nicht mehr loslässt – zumindest geht es uns so.

Was uns bleibt ist, uns bei euch allen für die tolle Vorweihnachtszeit zu bedanken. Es war schön zu sehen, wie gut der Adventskalender, den ihr übrigens hier findet http://on.fb.me/V1P3d2,  bei euch ankam und dass ihr euch über das ein oder andere Törchen mit uns freuen konntet.

Das haett es frueher nicht gegeben – X-Mas Special 2012

Heute vor einem Jahr wählte ich Musik für meinen Mix "Lebenslänglich" aus und einen Tag später ging er online. Die Auswahl folgte keiner bestimmten Logik – nur gefallen musste sie mir. Was danach geschah ist für mich heute noch unglaublich! Auch wenn Zahlen nur Schall und Rauch sind, schrieb ich wenige Wochen später ein paar davon zusammen mit wünschenswerten aber für mich völlig utopischen Zielen auf einen Zettel und legte diesen in meine Schublade.

Die Ziele wollte ich am letzten Tag des Jahres überprüfen. Ich habe nicht daran geglaubt, sie zu erreichen – geschweige denn zu übertreffen. Eingetreten ist jedoch beides. Ich blicke stolz auf das wohl ereignisreichste Jahr meines Lebens zurück und bedanke mich von ganzem Herzen!

Ich danke euch, meinen treuen Fans und Unterstützern, ich danke allen Künstlern, die mich mit ihrer Musik versorgen und mich inspirieren, ich danke allen Clubs & Veranstaltern, die es mir dieses Jahr ermöglicht haben, andere Menschen glücklich zu machen, ich danke allen neuen und alten Freunden sowie meiner Familie dafür, dass ich bin wie ich bin.

Aber besonders danke ich meiner Freundin, die mir jeden Tag zeigt, dass man alles schaffen kann, wenn man hart genug dafür arbeitet und an sich glaubt. Oft erscheinen uns Ziele zu groß und wir uns zu klein, aber in jedem von uns steckt mehr als wir denken!

Daniel Dexter’s reputation as party starter extraordinaire keeps on growing – a result of his punishing touring schedule and consistently exceptional output of some of Europe’s top electronic labels. But it’s fair to say that Berlin based Dexter’s most rewarding and boundary-pushing work so far has been courtesy of Poker Flat Recordings – which makes this edition of the Hamburg imprint’s Focus On series very timely. 

Focus On Daniel Dexter joins the already illustrious company of previous releases that featured Argy and Guido Schneider, and is set to bring Dexter’s unique brand of dancefloor mayhem to yet more ears. Having spent 2012 touring the world and ripping up dancefloors in every way imaginable, this release brings into sharp focus the force of nature that is Daniel Dexter.  

The release draws together some key releases and distinct high points of his sound over the last few years, as well as giving us some very exciting glimpses of what’s in store in the future – scattered throughout this weighty release are numerous unreleased and exclusive cuts set to detonate dancefloors throughout 2013.  The exclusive tracks are available on the vinyl release, while digital customers can pick up all 13 unmixed tracks. What’s more, the album is also being released on CD as an exclusive mix made by Dexter himself, showcasing not only his expertly crafted tracks but his unique and highly sought after mixing skills – not to be missed! 

The journey starts with ‘The Other Day’ – Dexter’s emotional mood setter sounding as good as ever – a true slice of atmospheric dance music as you’ll hear. The album also makes sure to stop by some other Dexter-defining moments, including ‘No House for Old Men’ from 2011, and a trio of stunning releases on Poker Flat from 2012 – ‘Sirens’, ‘Storm’ and ‘Murder’.  Each was a master class in dynamics and production savvy, referencing classic sounds but never being overawed by them. Dexter’s astounding remix for Zombie Disco Squad’s ‘Righteous Sound’ on Made to Play is another case in point- tight, punchy, and filled with a menace and attitude that is all Dexter. 

Dexter’s skills for balancing the needs of dancefloors to the more cerebral needs of the home listeners is clear - and nowhere more so than on the new and exclusive tracks on this release. ‘Birds’ has a lightness of touch that makes it perfect for very early or very late in any set. ‘Night Away’ is more upfront but maintains a jazzy undertone and boasts a smouldering vocal from Geraldine Roth – and also comes with a handy dub version for the DJs. ‘Raw Land’ is a firing late night house monster, deep and trippy and sure to turn a few floors inside out when played at the right moment. 

‘Papillon’ builds dramatically, utilizes its few elements to create a wicked groove reminiscent of classic period Carl Craig, while ‘Why So Serious?’ adds another dimension of edginess to the proceedings. 
‘In To The Wild’ further references Dexter’s debt to Detroit, but transcends the sum of its parts to create a lush and emotive deep bomb.  Rounding off the album is Dexter’s upcoming remix of Gender Bombs ‘Danube’- a perfect way to close this epic journey- sitting somewhere between trip hop and deep house, this track showcases Dexter’s extraordinary diversity and sure touch for emotional dance music.
