So I got involved with this electronic music during the early 90s and was instantly attracted to the way that people were friendly, non-judgmental, open-minded; basically positive as fuck.  That, and the way we all got off on this amazing music, put together in the middle of the night, usually in a condemned building.  

I taught myself to beat match vinyl on two Gemini BD-10s and a RadioShack 4 channel mixer, all bought at a pawn shop located in beautiful St. Petersburg, FL.  Within a few months I had a set of 1200s.  Learning on those nasty belt drives paid off; it was like butter!  

I fell in love with the music Detroit had been producing.  As a result of the huge influence such artists as  Richie Hawtin, John Acquaviva, Derrick May, Legion of Green Men, Roman Debnar, Darian Watson & Eric Lovell; mixing styles of Terrence Parker, Boomer Reynolds, & Stickmen, just to name a few. 

Landed my first residency at the The Viper Room, started up the after hours club, Utopia, and have played at historic venues such as the The Packard and The Eastown Theatre (Technology). 

My musical repertoire expanded when I moved to NYC in 2000 and especially when I headed south towards Miami in 2005.  My mission is to pay homage to this music and the originators that started this shit in a Detroit basement, and to bring these sounds to those that seek them.  There is nothing like the feeling like when a set comes together and you can feel it in the energy radiating from the crowd.

I am rarely only on 2 decks.  My original setup was 2 1200s and a Rane TTM-54.  I ran a PC with Rebirth pumping into Line 1 & 2 then put a SP-202 and a Lexicon multi effect on the send / receive of the Rane.   This gave me a unique control and power over the records.  These days I am running 4 decks and 4 effects in Traktor with 3 custom mapped MIDI controllers, again, giving me a one of a kind ability to mangle the tracks.  Don't ask me what kind of music this is.  "Call it what you want."

Starting off in Underground Detroit’s after hours scene, Al NeOn has quickly become one of Detroit’s premiere Bass Music artists, and across Michigan abroad. Remembering his roots, he continues to play in smaller and bigger shows, alike. Recently playing Life in Color, and gearing up for another, as well as performing for some of Detroit’s most influential companies Detroit Rave Scene, Nightsneak Entertainment, D-Ranged Productions and being featured on Elektricity Night Club’s mainstage. Delivering equal passion and intensity with every performance, to go along with a wide array of Bass Music influences that make for an experience unlike any other every time. Al NeOn was born in New York,New York during the clubbing explosion some blame it on the birth of Al NeOn. They moved Al NeOn to Hoboken,New Jersey to a shuffled around the United States, getting removed from high clearance special research facilities, to under ground bases they raised Al NeOn to be a God of Light to produce bass music throughout the world as we know it. His work creates happiness mixed with unity, the movement radiates with the joy that only love brings. Al NeOn currently resides in the underground of Michigan but not for long he is soon to also reside in your heart.
