Up and coming NY producer Thando1988 comes with an uplifting, soulful house remix of "All We Are," the title track from Mattie Safer's debut solo EP.  

Coming on the heels of his debut solo EP All We Are and a successful collaboration with Swedish producer Blende (“Back To Summertime”—Tune of the Month in Mixmag) former singer/bass player for The Rapture Mattie Safer, returns with a collection of remixes from three exciting producers, reworking songs from his soulful debut in a variety of club-friendly forms: A syrup-y remix from Moombahton pioneer Dave Nada, happy house from NYC producer Thando 1988 and a genre-bending blend of modern club beats and disco strings from BL'EVE Brown & John Hamilton. All We Are (Remixes) is a force to be reckoned with.

Thando 1988 ft Sir Charles - Losing My Mind

Fan Fiction is the culmination of one DJ’s lifetime journey through club music. As a nightclub DJ, with over fifteen years experience playing in discos across the globe, DJ Vibe is finally settling into his role as producer, a lifelong dream turned reality. It’s a position that suits him well, and is leading to the production of an eclectic mixture of dance tracks ranging from big room smashes to underground tech grooves. All of his music resonates with club audiences, despite his use of melodic tones and complex textures, usually reserved for smaller niche genres. By wearing his roots on his sleeve, Fan Fiction is connecting with new audiences and gaining an impressive following along the way.

Before moving into the studio full time, Vibe played a wide range of musical styles, from Hip Hop and House to Rock and Reggae, a process that helped to form the foundation of his musical roots. In addition to his clubbing background, he is also a classically trained musician and holds a Masters in Music from New York University. The diversity of his musical background remains evident in the music he produces today. His infectious beats mixed with big synth basses and chopped vocal samples are blended to create a gritty, yet funky sound. Although much of his music maintains a crossover appeal, at its heart it remains true to the underground. While his style can fluctuate from underground grooves to larger big room dance tracks, his commitment to his musical roots remains clear, as seen through his interjections of samples and rhythms from his youth. Vibe’s unique approach to dance production brings a refreshing change to the current monotonous offerings in electronic music.

These days, Vibe seems renewed and energized while settling into his new role as music producer. Most days he can be found working diligently in his Brooklyn studio. His sessions are conducted with the spirit and discipline of a martial artist as he allows his philosophy to guide his musical tasks. Always trying to learn and find value from every experience, Vibe’s dedication and discipline has given him an artistic freedom. In this process of self-discovery, the Vibe’s music has become more adventurous than ever, working in ways that would have seemed foreign to him just a few years ago. By incorporating his love for the classics with his taste for the emerging electronic sound, Vibe is discovering his true identity to the delight of his listeners. This journey has been a transformative experience and the DJ is truly writing his own story in a way that many producers never experience. From music fan, to nightclub DJ, he has now arrived as Fan Fiction.
